Check out first the fan for your AC under the hood close to the radiator. There should be one for the radiator and another for the condenser of the AC. It could either, the fan is not blowing or it has become weak. Check out the wiring if it may have caused it to not work.

If all check out OK, have your AC system checked out if you need more freon or of there are leaks. HAve the condesner checked out as it may not be cooling effectively.

02 Sunfire will cool the car when going at slow speeds on flat roads or down hill. Then when any stress is put on the engine, it will blow hot air. I have heard this could be the blend door actuator or...

if you remove the glove compartment. you see the actuator remove it and move the door manually. you fing your problem.then see if the door itself hard to turn.

The hot air from the vents begins to cool down when the vehicle is stopped or slows down.

sounds like a possible plugged heater core, restricting the flow of coolant. those require a special tool to remove, quick disconnect, just remove both hose from the heater core and back flush the heater core with a garden hose, NOTICE DO NOT DO THIS WHILE HOT IT WILL BURN YOU, this can make a mess, flush it both ways untill it flows clean and with even pressure, then refill the coolant and road test the vehicle to see if is changed.

The air is cold as long as you are going down the road but as soon as you stop for a few minutes it blows hot air.

Did you use a gauge to measure the pressure.
Is the cooling fan for the radiator working correctly ?
It may be over-full now.

Front blower fan stopped working, hot air comes out of the vents when heat is on and going down the road but fan does not work. Rear blower still works but it will not blow out hot air.

There is a thermal fuse inside the air duct. It is located behind the passenger glove compartment. tilt the glove door down and remove and look in. You will see a conector with about 4 to 5 wires. usually held on with two screws remove and inspect. The thermal fuse that runs between the coils will be open. Bypass it at your own risk or buy a new one from dealership or auto wrecker. May meen you fan is running too slow also and not blowing enuf cool air past it.

Would the heater control valve malfunctioning make the engine overheat blowing hot air out the heater one moment, then not blowing the hot air, temp gage spikes 225 plus. The motor takes awhile to heat up...

Heater control valve malfunction will not cause engine to overheat unless coolant is leaking externally...Overheating going down the road can be the result of a few different things...Partly clogged radiator...Insufficient air flow due to possible fan problem...External coolant leak...Make sure fans are operting properly and have cooling system pressure tested for leaks...Gaining and losing heat on the inside of the vehicle usually means system is low on coolant but you must find out where coolant is going

2005 Pontiac Montana SV6 heater blows cold when slowing to idle

How cold is it there and does your engine cool down any while going slow? If it does it may mean you need a hotter thermostat installed, My first thought would be to check the coolant level in the radiator and the coolant reservoir! Hope this helps and Merry Christmas
