SOURCE: Loud clunking noise in 2008 Pontiac G5

HI, i would inspect the strut assembly for loose structure asap. i would also inspect the wheel knuckle and rotor and tie rod ends for loose fit as well. inspect thoroughly.

Its most likely the CV-joint assembly. the boot may have slipped off, allowing the joint assembly to dry up. i advise to inspect all the above before looking at the CV-half joint assembly and boot.

SOURCE: rear suspension left side makes a knocking sound while driving

There are a few suspension parts that can cause knocking noises. Such as swar bar loose, strut mounts going bad. You should really have a shop do a complete suspension check.

SOURCE: I have a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am and it makes a loud noise

Bad front wheel bearing on the drivers side. When you turn left it shifts more of the vehicles weight to the passenger side and takes the pressure off of the drivers side. Not uncommon but will need attention soon. Hope this helps

Your car should be a front wheel drive which means no rear differential. Try jacking up the rear of you car (if capable) and spin you tires to listen for any noise's. Could be a bearing or brakes getting to low and rubbing the rotor.

Where is the fuel filter located on the 2008 Pontiac Torrent?

Two places it cold be. Most likely is under the vehicle, on the drivers side, behind the drivers door. Next could be behind the gas tank, in the center of it.

Driver's side wheel bearings, greased

That depends on what type of vehicle you drive. If the noise is on turns it’s more than likely a bad ball joint or toe rod end

It sounds like "False Antilock Mode" to me. Your Antilock Brake Control Module "thinks" that you have a wheel locking up. This is probably caused by a bad wheel sensor. You need to scan the module to find out which one.
