I would recommend you do NOT attempt any repairs here. Your vehicle has 3 warranties, 3year/36,000 mile bumper to bumper, 5year/60,000 mile warranty and a 96 month/80,000 mile emission warranty.

This is a know issue with your car. THere is a service bulletin (TC015-07) that is to correct this condition and is a covered repair under the federal emission warranty. You need to bring your car to the Toyota Dealership to be repaired.

Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help.

Toyota issued an technical service bulletin on this. It is a common problem. It requires replacement of the computer. The TSB is #TC014-06 This repair is covered under an extended warranty by Toyota for 96 months or 80,000 miles, so you may be able to get the dealer to repair it for free.
If you are within these time/mileage guidelines and the local dealer won't help you, contact the Toyota Zone Representive for your area. He's like the "court of appeals".

There is some info about your problem. One site says warranty is 60,000miles and another says its 80,000miles. The bad part is the ECM and it shows $800. But check with autoparts for generics. Salvage yard is a possibility but you never know what you get. But if you get it cheap off a wreck?

Right now my car has a problem with the p2716 code

Unfortunately a P2716 code is a code for the pressure control solenoid inside the automatic transaxle, my suggestion to you is to take it to your local Toyota dealer where they will be able to monitor the shift solenoids within the transaxle.

Hope this helps....

This has nothing to do with the shift solenoid switch. It is a failure of the ECM computer module. If your car is less than eight years old and less then 80K miles, it is covered by warranty

If not, the part is about $550.

There may be a problem in the transmission. Pressure control solenoid "D". A qualified shop or trans shop will need to check further and recommend repairs.

My car is a 2007 Toyota Corolla LE . I did a diagnostic scan for my car. the code read dtc p2716

P2716 Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical (Shift Solenoid Valve SLT).

There are 3 things it could be.
It could be your ECM, shift solenoid valve SLT, or open or short in the circuit. I would just recommend saving the hassle and taking it to an ASE qualified mechanic.
Here is what is happening...
The linear solenoid valve (SLT) controls the transmission line pressure for smooth transmission operation based on signals from the throttle position sensor and the vehicle speed sensor.

There is a Bulletin on this concern, and it is a warrantable condition for 8 years or 80,000 miles so you are still covered by the factory warranty.
The problem is a logic issue in the PCM. The correction is a new PCM with updated software.

Reference bulletin #TC015-07

The contents are below:

P2716 relates to the pressure control solenoid "D" electrical circuit. I think it's with the transmission. I will research it more.
