SOURCE: 2005 ford freestar power door

You need to order an "actuator" and install it, or go to the Ford dealer (or your trusted mechanic) and have the actuator replaced. The actuator is a solenoid that locks an unlocks the door latch. You can do it yourself if you are willing to take your door panel off and slice up your knuckles a bit.

These things have been a source of revenue for Ford for all models for many years. They just wear out too soon under normal use.

Both my 2004 Freestar side door actuators stopped working (intermittently at first) withing 2 months of each other in 2007. I ordered them from Bob Utter Ford (1-800-259-3560), for $42 each plus $9 shipping. See if your Ford dealer can match that before you order.

SOURCE: 2002 sport trac compass/outside temperature

This is a very common problem with many of the mid 2000 Ford truck and SUV overhead consoles. The console is very prone to internal failure. I offer a reasonable repair service with a lifetime guarantee, check it out: www.autoclockrepair.com
There is a bunch of useful info there. Drop me an email if you have questions, thanks!

Our outside temperature display on our dash now says zone 9, not the outside temperature, on our 2002 Ford Explorer. How do we fix it to display the temperature again?

The zone nine is for the compass you need to calibrate the compass. and then you temp will work again. check the owners manual if you do not have one call the service department at a ford dealer they should be able to help you.

2005 freestar fans not cutting on causing engine to run hot, what could be the cause. Once I get moving on the interstate it cools off, but in town I am constantly looking at the temperture needle. Thanks

YOU COULD CHECK THE FUSES FOR THE COOLING FAN RELAYS. THERE ARE 2. RELAY 1 AND RELAY 2. THEY ARE IN THE FRONT PART OF THE FUSE BOX IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE FUSE FOR RELAY 1 IS LABELED F3 AND IS A 30 AMP FUSE. AND RELAY 2 IS LABELED F2 AND IS A 30 AMP FUSE.

Onboard Temperature gauge

Does your direction work ok? I have seen that if you reset the compass then this will correct the temp problem. If not you can try disconnecting the battery for approx a min and this should reboot the system. If this don't work let me know and I can try to how you fine the fault.

Cheers
