Transmission wont shift low 2 second , alredy change trans


I came across this problem before in my case it turned out to be the TPS sensor. I also had a problem like this and it was the Park Natural switch. The ECM could only see park so it would not let the trans shift. These things are easy to check with a scan tool. Good Luck :-)

Trans shifting hard into all gears


Have you hooked vehicle up to scanner to scan for codes? Sounds like a sensor,most likely the speed sensor on the transmission.Easy fix that you can do yourself,after acquiring the part.Not all codes will trigger a CEL take it somewhere and have them scan vehicle for pending and non-critical codes.

Transmission shift from 1st to 2nd has hesitation


Look for vacuum leaks. There are tons of hoses, replace dried and cracked ones....

The trans shift issue that you describe seems that the trans is being told to hold back the shift, there is a unit at the end of the vacuum tube, AT the trans, called a modulator. They have a rubber diaphram inside that fails and then trans fluid gets sucked into the engine, via this vac. hose. Pull it off and see if any trans fluid comes out...Should be ZERO.

Also, your vehicle must have regular trans service, especially you must change the FILTER. Disk material eventually clogs the filter, then trans fails really fast.

You may consider having a quick lube shop do the trans service, they use a machine that pumps new fluid in while unit is running, totally flushing converter, cooler,and lines...but DO replace the filter.

To be fair, the service suggestion has nothing to do with yoru complaint, necessarily...

Sounds like either the pump went out or something is not installed in the case properly.

STOP TRYING TO DRIVE IT OR EVEN RUN IT!!!!

Take it back to where you had it serviced and have them make it right.

With normal acceleration the 1st to second shift point should be around 2500-3000 rpm. Most of your shifts under moderate acceleration will take place at this same point or when there a light load on the transmission. Under hard acceleration the RPMs will climp higher due to increased power needs and the computer will shift when less power is needed or the RPMs climb to an unsafe speed say5000-6000rpms (depending on where yours redlines). Also going up a steep hill will raise the RPMs higher and goind down a hill will cause a faster shift at lower RPMs. These can always be altered by an individual owner by adjusting shift points, using performance parts and if you have problems (low tranny fluid/trans issues). Your trans RPMS are fine and will vary depening on how your foot accelerates. The shift pattern should be the same every time you drive slow/medium/fast/, look for changes in those patterns you will also catch a problem early.

sounds like you trans, pump is out. you'll need to replace the pump or have a technian service it

get it scanned for soft codes.... likely a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) out or shift solenoids for trans

Gears hard to go in


If the mech raised the engine up at the front to get access to the pump then that may have affected the trans linkage, if it didn't have the problem before the water pump was replaced then it is likely something done the repair caused the issue with the trans shift linkage
