I believe that the gap you need is .035 . My personal vehicle is an '88, and i set my plug gap at .035. This has worked fine for 10 years. Also, the plugs that work the best are nippondenso u-groove. My mileage and power seem to be the best with these plugs. (this is for the 2.4 litre 4 cylinder, but i believe the gap also works for the v-6.)

next to the picture of the plug

All plugs come pre-gapped

I check mine- but they claim it is not necessary

The gap is in your owners manual

It may be on the label under the hood
