have a q&a session with the dealer service dept. to tell them whats happenning. google the problem to find a shop forum for audi's. other owners and technicians, experienced german car people can be found there

when i bought my german car i found out quickly. get a library card, or get a credit card. the problem can be simple but obtaining the information is not. its very expensive, time consuming, and can be simplified if you find an experienced group of people to discuss it with. thats why i say search for an audi forum or call the dealer

I am by no means a car expert. My experience is based only on past experience not just with my 2003 audi tt but other cars as well.

What you describe may be your transmission slipping. You should have it checked out asap before you need to have the flywheel cut--I had that happen on another car and it was very expensive to have repaired.

My tt also has some brake problems which cause it to stutter when I get close to a full stop.

The best of all though is the recall of our cars for replacment of the timing belt--according to my dealer a $1700 job.

SOURCE: My 2001 AUDI TT Quattro Roadster Wind Deflector

Hi, it is the drive band for the deflector. There is a single motor behind the driver, this drive the two screws via a band. It i shard to see but when the roof is in the down position remove the trim and you can see both screws which raise the glass. The glass is seated within single metal bracket, if you feel follow the top of the screws you will find the band.

I had the same problem the glass would only raise on the drivers side then stop with acracking sound, which was the trim luckily, on inspection I found the drive band had worn away, so the motor ws only driving one side.

I hope this helps

SOURCE: location of fuel filter on a 2001 audi tt quattro

On a 2001 Audi TT Quattro the fuel filter is located forward of the fuel tank, in the right rear wheel well area. The fuel line clamps are a bit tricky. The change will improve performance. The owners manual does not even list changing the filter. But do it! use a Fram, and it fit perfectly. Good luck.

SOURCE: audi tt 3.2 quattro oil filter change

The insert or cartridge filters are easy to change..You must jack up the front of the car, remove the engine belly pan. in the front of the motor there is a black cylindrical housing for the oil filter cartridge..On the bottom is a cap that just screws off..Unscrew the cap, take it off, slide the old insert off, then slide the new one on..Screw the cap back on and voila! you are finished..If the insert came with a new rubber o-ring, make sure to replace the old one on the cap.

SOURCE: Turn Signals quit working

Sounds like the turn signal flasher is going bad. The easy way to find wher the flasher is hidden is turn the turn signal on and find the clicking, that is the flasher. The emergency flashers work fine because they use a different flasher.

2000 audi tt quattro. Car starts, even w/o pushing the clutch. Goes into any gear but won't move at all. Any ideas? I bought a clutch and fly wheel but wanted to know any other possibilities.

Sounds like one of the following:
- clutch is completely worn.
- clutch fork mechanism is jammed or mis-adjusted and holding clutch away from flywheel
- shifting linkage is broken or out of alignment and is not really moving gears in the transmission into gear
If you didn't hear any bad sounds like banging or grinding, it's probably just a really burned out clutch. I'd also get a new pressure plate while your in there.

Won't shift into gear...1985 Audi Quattro

Check the clutch free play on the slave cylinder, the pushrod might be too short to depress the clutch fully. Did you make sure the master cylinder releases all the way?
