I have had that trouble with mine as well. I put in a new switch and it did not work. I thought it was the switch but it wasn't. I had to unscrew the switch a little until the light turned on. I put permatex on the threads, blocked the wheels turned the key to on but did not start it. Put the van in reverse and unscrewed the switch until the light came on. It has been working fine ever since.

They are full of baloney. Ther's a switch underneath the shift lever that engages when you shiht into reverse. The mechanic probably loosened it when reconnecting the shift linkage to the new tranny.

Thay may have knocked the switch out of position, which would cause the lights to go on in some other gear than reverse. That would be the first thing I check.

Good luck !

95 Plymouth Voyager all of a sudden will not come out of reverse!

your transmission will have to be diagnosed by a professional. there is an outside chance that it could be repaired on the car, but it is not likely and you will be looking at a trans. overhaul or replacement. I suggest replacing it with a used one as these transmissions are pretty reliable; that will be your cheapest alternative.

My 1996 Plymouth Voyager burns transmission fluid ,does anyone else have this problem?I have been using 2 quarts a week.

Fix the leak, and you should have no problem. There is no way to burn the fluid, other than a leak.
