Question about 2007 Mini Cooper S

Mini gurgling when low on oil

After about 3000mi (since last oil change), my mini starts gurgling like its got a raspy voice when it starts up. Last time it did this I feared there was a problem with the timing chain, but in reality, it was simply low on oil. Do Mini's run out of oil so quickly?

In fact, a few days later, the car simply completely stopped working. One mechanic said it had a hole in a piston, and needed a new engine. Car is currently in the hands of the mini dealership mechanics.

How can i install another automatic transmision fluid cooler to a 2006 mini cooper s

air transmission oil coolers lower oil temp by over 60%( more it the ambient temp is low) so yes they are the way to go
what is suggested is that you go to an accredited transmission specialist shop and get a kit made for mini cars and see how to fit it properly
They are not cheap( up to $500.00 aud ) but will ,save in transmission costs over time

Low Rattling sound at low RPM

Be sure to check the oil level. It could be that you are very low on oil and your oil pump if gurgling.

Once you're sure you have oil, if you still have a problem then you need to have a mechanic verify it's not a loose/misaligned timing chain which is a common issue for this year/make/model mini. The issue sounds like this:

So I picked up a 2006 mini last year and I noticed in the last couple of months that the overflow tank goes empty every couple of days. I hadn't noticed anything on the ground until I had my oil...

Start on a day you're not using the car. park it in a spot where any fluid leaks will be imeadiately obvious and if you see a fluid leak jack the vehicle on the spot and get under it and start looking for wet spots. It could be something as simple as a bad or loose hose clamp.

How many kms should my mini do before having a oil change service if she has done 70,000 km and then after 109,000? My min is using oil as the dipstick is dry 10,000km after its last service and I am...

Well, it's either losing or burning oil, one or the other or both. Blue smoke out the exhaust is burning, and oil spots on the ground after parked for awhile will surely tell. And, if you don't own "her" I would not buy "her" either.

My MINI '03 is screwed up

have you checked transmission oil?
I am not familar with MINI's but it sounds like either your transmission oil is low or is too thick (cold weather could do that) that the computer is safe gaurding you for destroying your transmission or you computers messed up.

Recommendation: get the car to a shop ASAP before you do serious damage.
