Cannot find trans. dipstick on 1998 toyota carolla sedan manuel trans.

MOST MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS USE A HEAVIER OIL, AND DON'T HAVE A DIPSTICK! THEY USUALLY HAVE A CHECK PLUG ON THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION! BEST TO PUT IT ON A LIFT TO CHECK!

Toyota ep71 starlet 1988 - 5spd manual trans

The Corolla gearbox has a longer tailshaft than the Starlet and the gearstick is in a different place, you may be able to fit with a modified driveshaft and a new hole in the floor , the starlet 5 speeds were a little fragile and prone to doing bearings. I would recommend rebuilding the one you have as it will probably be less hassle and cheaper.
