IF the motor is cranking, is it getting any fuel? When you turn your key on, do you hear the fuel pump kick on? Most cars today are fuel injected, and use an electric fuel pump. With another partner, have them stick their ear on the gas tank as you are turning the car on. You should hear some kind of pump, if not, your fuel pump may be dead.

Car cranks but wont start

It probably won't be anything simple. It should have generated some codes by now so I would get an OBD2 code reader and follow the instructions and find out what the codes are and post back.

My car wont start

If it won't crank, the battery could have failed or you could have a faulty connection between the battery and starter.

First, charge your battery all the way, Is your check engine light on? How did you determine you have spark and fuel? Did you try starting fluid?

Just had plugs, wires and bottom gasket leak fixed. Car cranked next day, several hrs. later, wouldn't start.mechanic came and jumped it off, said alternator was getting too hot. Next day cranked, drove to...

That would make sense, because when he jumped your car if he left it hooked up for awhile. Then he charged your battery up, so it started the next day. Then you drove to his shop and back it ran the battery down. It's easy enough to test and change alternators you could take it to autozone or O'Reillys if there is one close they can test your alternator. If you have more questions about this or if you would like to try and change it yourself just reply to this post and I will walk you through it.

I would check and clean any wire and connection between the alt and the battery and all grounds. Also check and see if charging voltage is the same at the battery post as it is at the lug on the alt.

I have a 2001 malibu was dead a week ago would not even jump off os i bought a new battery, ran fine for 4 days then it would crank over but not start changed out the fuel fuess and it started right up 2...

the quickest way to check to see if you have a fuel pump issue...since you said it blew the fuse, is after your battery has been trickle charged for at least a good six hours to insure "max voltage"..have someone spray some starter fluid in the intake manifold while you try and crank it, if it starts right away you probably have a bad fuel pump putting out low pressure, clogged injectors, or possibly a bad "ECM", check also to insure that the battery cables are extremely clean take a wire brush to them to clean them up if you have to an make sure there secured tightly to the battery. there is also the possibility that if you have never changed the spark plugs and the car has over 90k you might want to change them out also. And one last thing to check is all the plug wires at the coil packs and terminal post, remove them one at a time and make sure there is no corrosion on both the wire clip and the terminal post. i found corrorsion on two wires and the coil post once.. i cleaned it up and it ran good, but i decided to change them all out anyway. my car had 89k and you should have seen the condition of the spark plugs, all the electrodes were half worn away..i just bought it used and i took it for granted that the plugs would have been changed out by the previous owner. hope this will help you get closer to finding a fix! if i"ve been somewhat helpful could you rate this responce thanks..we here a fix ya love feedback, it helps us keep on going. thanks!

92 SL1 won't start, turns over but not getting gas, or floods

Try pulling the engine coolant temp sensor, They often crack not sure why but the ceramic tip cracks makes the car hard to start, the car's idle may race while shifting gears, and often smokes. The sensor is on the right side of the engine when looking at it on the head. Easy to change and get too

99 intrepid is trying to start and can't

if the starter seem to be slow when jurking, then you could have a weak battery...
if the battery or starting condition is fine, then you could have a faulty spark plugs, try to clean the spark plugs and with the connectors, disconnect and reconnect them one by one.
if your place is cold then you could be experiencing cold starting problem.

Car won't start says check traction control

the car should still start even with somthing wrong with the traction control. sounds like you have a dead battery. i would check it first. and if battery is dead charge it and start the car then take it to your local advance auto and have the altinator checked thay do it for free. if a charged battery dont start the car then you may have a bad starter. again the traction control light will not keep the car fromk starting
