Driving along lights dimmed, instrument panel died, loss of power then engine cut out & wouldn't start. Starts with a jump but when i turn key to heat glow plug, instrument panel goes mad

I assume there's a problem with alternator. Check the grounding to engine, check continuity of a positive wire between alternator and battery. the energizing voltage should be checked as well. Might be the bad connection between battery and vehicle body grounding. Diesel cars are sensitive even in a little loss of connection and rust in the connection points.

Pull the MAF sensor and give it a cleaning the correct way.Sometimes something shorts those probes(tiny wires and delicate) and your engine will cut a shine on you.
Look up how to clean the MAF sensor if you don't know how. don-ohio

95 mustang, driving along and car just dies. wait 30 min s0metimes it will start and sometimes it wont. no spark. why?

Ignition modules and pick-up coils are pretty common on the older fords. When it doesn't start check for pulse at the coil. You can do this with a test light. Hook the lead wire of the test light to ground. Unplug the coil, turn the key on and see which of the two wires has power to it. Then plug the coil back in and back probe the wire that did not have power and crank the engine over. The test light should flash. If it does not than I old suspect the ignition module and would probably replace the pickup cl in the distributor for good measure. This was a fairly common symptom back in the day.

I cleaned my engine and now it wont start, but if jump start it,its ok until i shut it off and then try to turn it on again

sounds like your starter motor got wet, poss answer is take it for a long drive, say 20 mls,or let it tick over for a couple of hours or if a nice sunny day lift the hood and leave it all day..if it dont work after that its gonna cost....

Driving one day and myfront defroster and a/c went

As with any electrical problem I would first check the fuses. They should be under the left side of the dashboard drivers side. I not there then check under the hood along the fender or firewall.

when you overheat an engine. certain parts expand more than usual. like pistons, crankshaft and camshaft bearings. im afraid its time to overhaul the engine. inspect for cracks etc...
check the oil on the dipstick...if it looks like a milkshake...you cracked something...head or block......sorry dude for the bad news. good luck

i would check your ignition system. you would need a meter for this but look for broke or loose connections. if it was a fuel problem i dont think it would just start up after 20 minutes. or you might try your ignition switch. if its shorting or something then ya well it would cut your engine off real quick
