What year and what engine do you have ??
How long ago did you go through the puddle ??
You turn it over does it run on it's own for a bit before it shuts down ??
Do you know if it's an electronic throttle body ??

Joel, it's a 2008. They don't have ignition wires. Doesn't have a distributor so there is no cap and rotor to try and dry out either. Not sure how he's supposed to check the gas pedal linkage on the throttle as it is an electronic throttle body so it's electric and not mechanically connected from pedal to throttle body. It's likely best to let the dealer work on it. There is a chance the throttle body or it's wiring is shorting out. I had a friend that this would happen to one in a while when he hit a puddle.

All electrical components need to be dried. Use wd40 to displace
water. dry all connections with a hair dryer. If car has distributor, remove cap. Spray with wd40 and dry with hair dryer. Remove wires from cap one at a time and dry out with hair dryer. Check gas pedal linkage on engine. Again, spray with wd40 to displace water.. Depending on how much water was sprayed over the engine compartment, it may take several treatments to dissapate all the water and miosture from components.

Possible the trip throught the deep puddle soaked the alternatior when water got above the splash guard mounted on the under carrage suggest you check all of the electrical wiring amd relays to see if any are wet or are now exposed to the weather. Good luck. Fixes for deep puddle adventures can be difficult to find and fix.

Check to see if your serpentine belt is still on the pulleys. No belt,,no power steering and no alternator. You are probably driving on the battery only.

Went thru a flooded road about 8"deep stalled out

You filled the cylinders with water. You will need to remove all the spark plugs and crank the engine with them out, to push out the water. you will also want to replace the air filter as it is probably saturated with water.

Went through a puddle. Car died. Restarted a day

See these items:-

The starter must have been bad due to the water.

Bad PCM or ignition coil.

Corroded battery cables.

See timing belt.

Does the engine turn fully or not? If not the connecting rods are more than likely twisted to your pistons if he hit the deep puddle at a fast rate of speed. The pressure of the water would of passed through the engine's crack seal producing deadly effects to the engine
