If your car is still within warranty, contact your dealer to have it checked.

Out of warranty, have an automechanic look at it.

There can be many reasons for overheating, you haven't described any symptoms (temp gauge in the red, car loses power after x minutes, etc.) If the car has not a service in a while, it may be a good idea to get that done first.

Two things that owners can do to reduce the risk of overheating is ensuring the coolant is topped up in the radiator / expansion tank and that the oil is replaced regularly. The oil filter also needs to be replaced when the oil is replaced. This should only be carried out at a proper oil change garage so that the waste oil does not harm the environment or lead to an accident by being leaked out of the engine.

If the car sits parked and the engine is left running (traffic jams and similar), the fan may not be switching on to draw air across the radiator. That could be a sensor problem.

1991 Subaru Legacy - non turbo Car runs great !! Except my daughter rear-ended another car - it seemed like it did not hurt it but now it keeps going hot. At 1st it was overheating - replaced thermostat...

When your daughter rear ended the other car, she could have caused one hose somewhere to get a kink in it. Please follow especially the pipes underneath to check for a kink. It may be a very small hose but it can cause this problem. It did it to my 1990 VW Golf GTI.

It could also be that there was a metal pipe that bent also and water is not circulating properly.

Hello my name is jackye and i have a 2002 ford focus zts mach audio, dual overhead cam, automatic. we have been having problems with the car overheating. well we have done repaired leaks replace hoses,...

If you purchased used beware that the indicator light may have been broken to hide this problem. If the vehicle worked normal since you purchased it the indicator light is probably inop or broken.

Flush the radiator first. If it still persists, replace the thermostat. Get this fixed because you do not need a warped head.

Brake light goes out and seems contacts from it being plastic is the problem. Bulb is good could it being contact overheating?

if u unplugged it from the rear light you should see terminal 1 (brown wire) being chaffed and loose. this is the ground wire. make a a new terminal and ground it to the rear light itself, u should see a male pin coming out of the aluminum chassis (fix it there). This should solve your issue.

The coolant light keeps coming on but the car is not overheating. it does leak coolant every now and again not all the time.

it is the coolant level sensor that is making the light come on, your car does not have to be overheating for it to come on.
once the coolant level goes below the sensor it turns the light on.
If you fix the leak it will stop the light going on unless the sensor is faulty.
Hope this has helped.

2000 chevy 1500 silverado- rear brakes overheating

Have someone push & release pedal while at wheel with problem. See if it takes a while or slow to release. If yes, have wrench ready on bleeder screw, and try again, if it sticks/holds, crack bleeder screw, if it releases, I'd replace hose.
