You can do a Quick test on jeep cps by putting an ohmeter between b&c terminals coming out of sensor. Any reading other than an open circuit (same as when meter is on and leads are not touching) should be considered a failure.

In most cases the crank sensor generates AC voltage when the crankshaft is moving. You would check it with a volt meter.

1992 Chavy Cavalier 2.2L engine. No Spark

This could be a few things, you will need to do some testing, fist check all grounds and connections to crank sensor and the module also remove computer connector and make sure pins on connector and computer are good and not broken, from there remove the module and have it tested. a lab scope would be needed to test crank sensor and a multimeter to test coils, this is going to take some testing you could have a bad module or crank sensor or coils or computer,

How to Test a Crank Censor

There is no way of testing a crank sensor, unless you have a special tool that reads the pulses emmited by the sensor itself, only garages and good mechanics have this tool. its done while the vehicle is running. If your cars computer is telling you that there is no crank sensor signal, maybe the sensor is bad.

Testing a crank position sensor on a 1997 astro

If you don't have the van, it will be very difficult to test the Camshaft Position Sensor. Most reliable tests involve cranking the engine with the sensor installed and testing the sensor's output ranges. Most CPS's are magnetic and therefore testable conditions will be most difficult to achieve outside of the vehicle.

However, if you use a voltmeter, you can test if there is any resistance between terminals 2 and 3 (on a three terminal CPS). If the resistance is zero, this will only tell you that it is probably dead, but will not test if it has any other faults.

I hope this helps.
