Question about 2006 Pontiac G6

1 Answer

I can feel my 06 g6 with 83,000miles switch through the gears, it just started and the car is a automatic. I have not changed the trans Mission fluid, but I do keep up on services.

I've never had an automatic car that you could not feel the gear changes, so from by perspective there is nothing wrong with that. As a unit gets older there is more clearance between components and therefore you may feel the gears change a bit more than before but generally this happens so slowly that no one ever notices. Keeping up with service to everything except the transmission seems strange...How is it not in need of the same attention the remainder of the car gets? The transmission oil deteriorates just as any fluid used in the vehicle.

Check for broken motor mount, trans linkage is mounted at some point to the engine and/or trans. When engine moves your linkage adjustment will change.

overdrive is the fourth gear.D1,D2,D3,D4 now drive truck at 80 kmh
cruise at steady speed no fuel pedal movement, downshift from D4 to D3 you should feel RPM raise .. after push brake pedal a little you should see RPM raise 300 to 400 rpm.
shift pattern is 1st gear ,second gear,3rd gear and lock up(torque converter clutch). 4th gear with lock up
hope it helps

I have an automatic trans mission that doesnt go

The forward gears slip but dose the reversr gear slip as well if not your problem is either the forward band is worn out ,,,,or the forward pump is playing up and also it could be the thing that starts it all off is the filter in the auto sump is clogged up with metal or drive band dust is the colour of the auto oil dark or dirty..
When was the trans oil last changed.

Once in Drive, Jeep does not easily shift back to Park

Try to check the trans mission gears of your 1995 jeep grand cherokee. The shift fork and the clutch sleeve of the trans mission is locking to the other gears .And then also check the starter motor and its solenoid.if the starter motor solenoid is destroyed or worn out replace .

1989 Pathfinder does not start, no gas, no spark.

sence the problem started in the trans that makes me think that its your park/neutral safety swith which would do exactly what your saying. if a auto the switch should be on the shifter or posably part of the P.R.N.D.L (park revirse neutral drive)switch on the trans .if manual its usually on the side of the trans mission. good luck i hope i helped
