Question about 2006 Buick Rendezvous

1 Answer

06 Buick RDV went completely dead when I turned the ignition switch to the start position. Disconnected the battery for five minutes and re-connected, inserted the key and turned to the acc position, everything wes fine, then when I turned further to the start position everything went dead again. Car has a new starter, new battery and clean tight cables. Tried a new crank relay, no joy.

SOURCE: i need a fuse and relay diagram for a 1995 buick

The fuses and relays are on the back fire wall under the hood.Just remove the plastic cover. This is not a fuse problem but more than likely a bad battery or charging system problem.Check the battery.Have it load tested and have your charging system tested also.Make sure all the cable connections on the battery and alternator are all clean and tight.Hope this helps.Good luck.

SOURCE: Key stuck in buick enclave in acc position.

if acc is the one before the starter then no as you have to turn the key in order to start sorry! but if it is lighting the dash up with battery and engine lights then u can short the rear of the ignition barrel by taking off the cowling {around ignition} then there should be wires soldered to the back of what we call the black [or white] box. once youve charged the battery you can cross the back wires using a screw driver, when you hear it turn over you can determine which is the live feed and cross with starter wire. failing this the best i can advise is removing cowling and taking black{or white} box off the back of the ignition barrel end and then you will be able to drive it until you get a new ignition barrel hope that helps

I think that you have a defective starter solenoid, this the part that is mounted to the top of the starter.

1999 Crown turned ignition switch to start - heard pop - no electrical power

If nothing works including the lights, something happened between the battery and the fuse box.
There are some fuseable links between the battery and the starter solenoid or between the solenoid and the fuse box.
I'd start with the battery cables and look for those fuseable link wires.

My battery went dead in my 95 buick skylark, now the key wont even turn

The battery going dead has nothing to do with the key now not turning, however, the key not turning properly could have caused the dead battery if the ignition switch did not turn off all the way. Anyway, if the key won't turn, you most likely need to replace the ignition lock cylinder. The battery is a whole different issue. It could be a problem with the ignition switch, or it could just be time to replace the battery.

I have and oldsmobile 2000 intrigue. i changed the computer and now it wont crank when the key is turned and also the security light is flashing constantly how do i reconcile the new computer to the car?

There is a simple procedure for this.
First of all (and VERY IMPORTANT) is to connect the vehicle to a battery charger. Leave the battery charger on during this entire process.
This procedure takes approximately 30 minutes . Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding.
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Turn the ignition switch all the way from the off to the start position, then leave it in the on position.
NOTE: The engine will not crank.

  1. The SECURITY will come on and stay on for at least 10 minutes . When it goes out, proceed to step 4.
  2. Turn the ignition switch off for five seconds .
  3. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 again for a second time.
  4. Repeat steps 2, 3, and 4 again for a third time.
  5. Turn the ignition switch off.
  6. Turn the ignition switch all the way to the start position. The engine should now start.

99 Cadilla Catera rough start...horrible mpg

I had a similar problem with my 01'
The problem is when battery goes dead or is disconnected, the throttle position sensor loses it's home position. The solution was to leave ignition on without starting it (better to have a charger connected) for 3 minutes, Then start the car and it should smooth out. Good luck...worked for me.
