What is causing my trunk to leak on my 1993 Honda accord?

Try checking the seals. If they are cracked or pieces missing. That will cause leaking.

How do you adjust car door that needs to be sort of lifted to close. noemally, it gets slammed shut a couple of times to close right.

The usual cause of a hanging door is a worn door hinge or two. You might be able to loosen and lift the two hinges, at the front of the door, a bit. That might allow the door to close better but the best solution is to replace the worn hinges.

Doors where hard to close without the weather door seals. But with them on they will not close. The body plates more but not enuff on the cab? I need HELP.

Hi!!
The doors Hinges or Striker need to be adjusted to make up for the weatherstrip thickness. To do this, loosen the hinge-to-door bolts for lateral adjustment only. Loosen the hinge-to-body bolts for both lateral and vertical adjustment.

REAR DOORS

BEFORE YOU START:
  • Determine which hinge bolts are to be loosened and back them out just enough to allow movement.
  • To move the door safely, use a padded pry bar. When the door is in the proper position, tighten the bolts to 19-25 ft. lbs. (26-35 Nm) and check the door operation. There should be no binding or interference when the door is closed and opened.
  • Door closing adjustment can also be affected by the position of the lock striker plate. Loosen the striker plate bolts and move the striker plate just enough to permit proper closing and locking of the door.

  • Adjust the front door alignment.
  • Tighten the front door hinge to front door bolts to 19-25 ft. lbs. (26-35 Nm).

FRONT DOOR FORE AND AFT ADJUSTMENT Check the rear door hinge adjustment before adjusting the front door hinge.
  • Remove the front fender.
  • Loosen the front door hinge to body bolts.
  • Adjust the front door alignment to specification.
  • Tighten the front door hinge to body bolts.
  • Install the front fender.

DOOR ADJUSTMENT The following procedure is for performing fore, aft, up, down and tilt adjustments.
  • Remove the door striker.
  • Loosen the bolts only enough to allow for slight door movement.
  • Carefully close and adjust the door until flush with the adjacent body panels.
  • Carefully open the door and tighten the bolts.
  • Re-install and adjust the door striker.
  • Check the door for proper operation and alignment.
STRIKER ADJUSTMENT Mark the position of the striker before loosening.

Convertible Top Lid Not Closing

top still needs to be adjusted to fully seat properly in the trunk/boot. if the upholsterer who replaced the top is not familiar with the adjusting process for a BMW, then i would take it to a BMW dealer and have them do the final adjustments.

When exiting highway 35-45 MPH right turn only, the interior lights come on and then go off when I resume driving straight

rkgaynor i recomend checking your drivers side front door latch adjustment-the striker on the B-pillar may need to be loosened and adjusted inwards which will make the door close tighter-sounds like at higher speeds your body may lean against the door and cause the door switch to illuminate the interior lights-before looseing the bolts i recomend tracing the striker with a pencil so if any large adjustments occur and door doesnt close or open properly you will know where the original position was and can change it back.

Convertible top rattles and pops.

the adjustments can be a bit tricky but there are a couple of things you can try.....lube all the seals around the soft top and between the windows ,a light smear of vaseline can get rid of some creaks and groans.also there are 2 metal pegs where the roof locates on to top of the screen if you can find some pipe that will slide over them cut it to about 5-10mm so most of the peg is still exposed, and slide it on this tensions the roof a little and can work wonders.hope this helps.
