I have a 1998'Ford Explorer and half the dash lights are out and all pod a sudden my speedometer just quit. Need to know what fuses would go to these, so I can try that. Ty

Sorry but it's not a fuse problem . There is not a fuse just for the speedometer . The microprocessor inside the instrument cluster determines where the speedometer needle points , just like the fuel gauge , tachometer etc... Having the vehicle checked for DTC'S would be the proper step to take .
Vehicle Speed Signal
The vehicle speed signal is generated by the rear anti-lock brake sensor and sent to the 4-wheel anti-lock brake system (4WABS) module. The 4WABS module sends the vehicle speed signal via circuit 679 (GY/BK) to all systems which require a vehicle speed signal input.
Speedometer
The electronic speedometer receives a speed signal from the 4WABS module.

2006 G6 2.4 I'm checking resistance from CKP to ECM. Is 2.5 ohms too much? The RPM guage is inop.Scan tool shows CKP rpms, but not on IP.

Does the vehicle start an run ? If so the crank sensor is not your problem . It's the gauge , probably bad . GM had defective step motors in thier instrument clusters from 2003 to 2006 ! what type scan tool are you using ? Can it check instrument cluster data ? The pcm sends info for the instrument cluster over GMLAN serial data network . Do you know what that is . How to repair GM Instrument Cluster Speedometer Gauge Stepper

Instrument Cluster and Panel Illumination The instrument cluster and panel illumination is used to provide backlighting to the instrument panel, switches, and control components when the headlamp switch is in either the PARKING LAMPS ON or HEADLAMPS ON position. The level of intensity is adjustable by pushing the instrument panel dimmer switch either up to increase intensity or down to decrease intensity.
The dimmable backlighting components are:
  • Instrument cluster
  • Hazard switch
  • Rear defroster switch
  • Message center switches
  • Parking aid switch (if equipped)
  • Transmission range selector
  • Fog lamp switch
The non-dimmable backlighting components are:
  • Driver front door lock and power window control switch
  • Passenger front door lock and power window control switch
  • Driver rear door power window control switch
  • Passenger rear door power window control switch
Principles of Operation
The instrument cluster sends a signal to the instrument panel dimmer switch. The instrument cluster provides a variable pulse width modulated (PWM) signal to the dimmable backlighting components in accordance with the position of the instrument panel dimmer switch.

I have a 2004 chevy Silverado 2500 HD and I got a odometer error message in my instrument cluster. Is this from the instrument recall from way back? Front left window switch works intermittently also.

Disconnecting the battery isn't going to change anything . You have a hard fault . The IPC calculates the mileage based on the vehicle speed signal circuit from the powertrain control module (PCM). The odometer will display 'error' if an internal IPC memory failure is detected. IPC- instrument panel cluster ! Is the odometer inoperative ?

My speedo is not working on my ford transit minibus Can any one help pls

Well Cliff your really going to have to take this to a professional shop or Ford dealer ! You don't want to just replace parts on this , could get very expensive ! I don't know how familiar you are with newer vehicles , given the all the electronic modules on vehicles today. There is a serial data communication network called CAN .controller area network that the modules share info on. Your instrument cluster is a module of a kind too , has microprocessor it side ! You really need a dealership type scan tool to check this one out. You could possibly need a new instrument cluster or a PCM ! Then there would need to be programmed ! this is nothing for a do it yourselfer to do !
Speedometer
The instrument cluster receives the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) signal from the powertrain control module (PCM) over the high speed controller area network (HS-CAN). The instrument cluster monitors the VSS input from the PCM and commands the speedometer with a corresponding movement of the pointer.
  • The speedometer/odometer is inoperative
  • PCM
  • Instrument cluster
  • Go To Pinpoint Test E .

No
The system is operating correctly at this time. The concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. There isn't a fuse just for the speedometer , there are four fuse for the whole instrument cluster . If one of these fuse's were burnt you would have more then just the speedometer not working ! You need to have a scan tool to find out what is up ! you could need a new cluster ! Is the check engine light on ? if not wouldn't think vehicle speed sensor bad , besides speed info for speedometer PCM uses for transmission shift points ! Good luck ,hope this helps !
