The pcm (powertrain control module ) is telling you it has a set code in the memory. Take the car to a parts place like (auto zone ) and have them to run a scam on the pcm for a trouble code. Once you have done that then you will be able to correct the problem. Hope this will help you.

check or replace fuel filter for clogging up. if it does clog up, then you will not get enough fuel to engine to run it properly. it will stall at stops, and be very sluggish on takeoff. check fuel pressure if need be. could also be a bad catylist convertor. so check above first. Rent a fuel pressure guage from advance or oreilley's and check fuel pressure if needed. they will tell you the proper fuel pressure for your car.

SOURCE: check engine light cones on and stays on , engine starts and stops.

This means that a vital component of your emission control and engine management system has a serious problem. It usually involves a component or system needed for the vehicle to run at all. In most cases, drive the vehicle as little as possible. In many cases, the vehicle is not safe to drive at all -it could stop or stall out at any moment. It is best to pull over to a safe place and have the vehicle towed to an automotive diagnostician for a thorough inspection and repair.

Scanned the computer car to know faul codes stored there.

My 2006 Ford F-150, V-6 engine, will start but only stays running for a few seconds, then bogs out. Battery is new.

A few seconds, or like 2 seconds. Is the security like flashing? The light could be a red dot on the top of the dash. Have the codes read, takes a scanner. Check engine light on when it is running, Also check the codes, code reader will do this. Does the engine just shut off or does it bog down, like sputter till it dies?

My 99 chevy s10 bogs down and wants to die and the check engine light is flashing. what can i do to fix it?

The check engine light flashing usually indicates a misfire. What engine do you have? Pulling the codes from the computer will help narrow down the possibilities.

1990 chevy silverado 1500 wont run

Code 12 means you are in test mode, code 34 is a problem with the map sensor, and code 35 is a problem with the idle control valve.
But those two codes could show up if you disconnect those sensors or if the engine is having other problems.
In situations where the engine stalls, it is very easy to overlook something or assume a component is working.
Treat it like a no start. Pull a plug wire and watch the spark as the engine dies. Use carb cleaner or starting fluid to boost fuel supply.
You'll have to figure out if it is loosing spark or fuel to proceed.
Things like the coil, the stator in the bottom of the dist, or a relay can be the cause. Even low fuel pressure.

Its a 2.2 ohv and it runs like it has a bad miss it idles funny and kinda bogs down when i hit the gas but once above 2000 rpms it runs decent until about 3800 rpms then it sometimes starts to backfire

You didnt say if the check engine light is on? Take it to auto zone or advance auto parts store and they will plug it into diagnostic computer and let you know what sensor is bad for free. My guess? manifold pressure sensor. Good luck, dont forget to rate

Starts good but bogs out in gear

Tuned-up lately, like new plugs & wires? Check EGR Valve, and also cycle key to retrieve any trouble codes that may be stored that will point you /us in right direction, and let us know what came up. Turn key to on, off,on,off,on, and leave in on position & count flashes of "check engine" light. goes like this: 2 flashes, pause, 2 more is code 22. 3 flashes, pause 4 more, is code 34........write them down & get back.
