Fuel door won't stay shut on 2003 GMC Envoy

The fuel door will not click shut anymore. I am thinking that the mechanism (spring) behind the rear fender has failed. Do you know the components that are involved?

SOURCE: How do you replace a fuel pump on a 2003 gmc envoy

unfortunately you will need to drop the gas tank will need a jack and jack stands for safety reasons and some tools sockets - {deep-well} and screwdrivers and patience and hopefully a warm area and pliers ........if you decide to do this first i can give you more detailed assistance on what to expect as well as difficulty level etc.....a few hours i assure you a bit of difficulty depending upon your mechanical skill and health i know i had to have mine sent out as i could only get it 3/4 the way out and i have been an auto/body mechanic and suspension paint metal etc for over 34 years but my health issues restrict me from even the simplest of tasks at times i hope this helps you in making a decision and ...................ensure in fact it truly is the fuel pump 1st have you determined this yet ? a pressure test can be made for free from most parts stores and a few major repair franchises

Fuel Filter Removal & Installation 2002-2004 To Remove:
NOTE: If a fuel filter is restricted, clean and inspect the inside of the fuel tank.

  1. Relieve the pressure in the fuel system.
  2. Lift the vehicle.
  3. If necessary, remove the fuel tank shield from the frame.
  4. Make sure the fuel pipe and hose connections, as well as the surrounding areas, are clean.
  5. Disconnect the fuel pipes from the fuel filter; keep the retaining clips with the filter.
  6. To avoid fuel loss and fuel system contamination, cap off the fuel pipes. Fuel filter removal and installation gm-05-00-1542.gif

  8. Remove the fuel filter from the fuel filter bracket.
To Install:

  4. Uncap the fuel pipes.
  5. Connect the fuel pipes to the fuel filter.
  6. Turn on the ignition for 2 seconds, with the engine off, and then turn off the ignition. After 10 seconds, turn the ignition back on with the engine off.
  7. Check for leaks in the fuel lines.
  8. Lift the vehicle.
  9. If previously removed, install the fuel tank shield to the frame.
  10. Lower the vehicle.

Heater clicking noise in gmc envoy

Do you hear a clicking noise when you turn your truck on? Its probably the actuator. While the defroster was on I removed the fuse locted under the rear driver side seat. I think its 36B. It stopped the clicking noise and my air vents work well now.

I cant get my 2003 chevy envoy head lights to shut off...

please excuse me here but iam a europeon mechanic and never seen this vehicle so iam not really the one you need to answer this for you as such but if they are staying on when the key is removed then i can only think that either the switcch is faulty which i would expect on older cars but newer ones use a relay and once the key is removed then all main lights will cease except the parking lights so here in your case i would suspect a relay has melted the contacts and its staying connected via the fused contacts ,Also some vehicles leave the main lights on for a while to allow you reach the garage door when its dark and maybe this function is faulty ,now to find this fault is quite complicated and i would ask a local recommended mechanic to check it out for you

GMC Envoy 2004 XUV tailgate won't latch closed. Pressure switch makes latch click but when I go to close it, it does not latch.

Two things happen. One the latch is already latched and therefore it's closed before the gate shut, When you try to close it you might notice that the door don't close all the way. This doe'snt have to be thwe case. the other thing that happens if the lock mechanism is working, You here it click? The latch is stuck as the opener is stuck. You might get lucky and spray the latch with Blaster or other rust buster type penatrant. Theres angles though the opening of the latch . Spray on several angles and repleatly close the door trying to vibrate the Penatrant into the stuck area. Looking at the latch use a screw driver to move the latch and see if you can cycle it though it's positions to see if you can latch and unlatch it with the tool and reopen by pullung the handle ( you may need to try ther inside handle too and even the remote openner if you have one. Ussaaaly you need to push the button twice to open the rear hatch so it may take a few trys and spraying to get it to come loose.. Some vehicals stay closed a long time and stuck is the way to think.. But if the door is used often the linkage inside the door mayh have come off the the latch is closed and the linkage doesn't open the laTCH AND THE THING MANAGED TO GET CLOSED WITHT THE DOOR OPEN.

Why does my heater keep running after I shut my Envoy off?

I have the same problem. I have also been searching the web for a solution. I came across someone saying that it was the heater module located behind the glove department. I can't find now where i read this but it said the part was approx. $150.00. He was having same problem as us, heater wouldn't obey touch commands to turn on/off or when heater did blow it would only blow real low or real high. Like you, after turning off engine blower motor was still running even though it wasn't blowing air out.
I'm tired of paying for things that are not due to normal "wear and tear" on my 2003 Envoy. Let me know if this helps you and how you repaired it. I'll probably have to take mine to the shop but because I'm a "girl" I swear they think I'm crazy with all my Envoy complaints.
