Where is the amp located I'm trying to install my own amp so I need to connect it to the original one

I think the amp is...uh is...uh is...nope, I can't read minds anymore so you'll have to tell us the year, make and model of your vehicle.

After Market Radio Installation

Hey man, you have an amplified system. use a 70-1858 wiring harness and jump the blue/white wire from the aftermarket radio to the pink wire on the second plug. this will power on the factory amp with the aftermarket radio.

Replace horn 2007 jeep grand cherokee

  • 1Buy a horn kit. Direct replacement kits for the Jeep Grand Cherokee models will have only one horn, but many aftermarket kits consist of two horns.
  • 2Locate the original manufacturer's horn. The horn for the Jeep Grand Cherokee is mounted under the right turn signal behind the front bumper. The easiest way to access it is from underneath the front of your Jeep.
  • 3Disconnect the power connector from the horn, unscrew the mounting bolts with a socket wrench and remove the original horn. If you are installing a factory replacement, you can simply attach the old wiring harness to the new horn and mount it in the original location. However, if you are installing two horns, you will need to find a sturdy location with minimal vibrations.
  • 4Splice the original pair of wires to the two horns according to the instructions for the new horns. The kit should include the connectors that you will need. Generally, you will splice a Y connection to each original wire to produce two pairs of wires that are connected to a new wiring harness. You will then connect each harness to one of the new horns.
  • 5Test the new horns to ensure they work.

    *I've done this myself on a few of my Jeeps, these directions are the simplest though, but do not take into account any "issues" . For the simplest fix, i would by a replacement horn (same year and model) from a breakers and install, if you're brave you can buy a cheap one form amazon or ebay.

    Need help with installing aftermarket amp and subwoofer

    not sure how large amp is but need to find an out of the way place to locate. then figure where you want the speakers located.on the larger amps the amount of power will destroy factory speakers. If you put the amp in the back locate the factory speakers[ left and right channel] that are
    closest to the amp
    and connect input wires to the exisitng speakers .now you have input to the amp and factory speakers are safe. install new speakers from the output side of amp and you have done the hard part,... now you need to have power to the amp and depending on how much you need ,it may have to come from the battery. 2 things very important because direct power from battery can cause electric shorts ,you must have some type of in line fuse to protect the system
    and a switch to turn off amp.if amp is on all the time ,it will run the battery down overnight.Let me know if that helps

    The battery and the alternator, need replacing on a 2006 6cyclinder, Taurus. I have the parts, and tools, I just never worked on a newer car before. I need a print out of instructions, please!!

    Removal & Installation 3.0L (2V) To Remove:
    1. Disconnect the battery ground cable
    2. Remove the accessory drive belt
    3. Remove the fasteners and move the degas bottle aside.
    4. Disconnect the wiring from the alternator.
    5. Remove the brace and the alternator mounting bolt.
    6. Remove the alternator from the engine.
    To Install:
    1. Install the alternator on the engine. Tighten the lower and right brace bolt to 18 lb-ft. (25 Nm) and the left brace bolt to 35 lb-ft. (48 Nm).
    2. Connect the wiring to the alternator.
    3. Install the degas bottle in the original position.
    4. Install the drive belt.
    5. Connect the negative battery cable.
    3.0L (4V) To Remove:
    1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
    2. Remove the accessory drive belt.
    3. Remove the power steering hose bracket nut from the alternator mounting bolt.
    4. Remove the upper alternator mounting bolts. NOTE: The left side bolt will come out with the alternator.
    5. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
    6. Remove the right front wheel.
    7. Remove the right inner fender splash shield.
    8. Remove the screws and the alternator splash shield
    9. Remove the torque converter inspection cover.
    10. Install the flywheel holding tool. holdingtool.gif
    11. Remove the bolt and the crankshaft pulley. NOTE: The crankshaft pulley bolt has a reverse thread. The crankshaft pulley and bolt are a molded composite and are one piece.
    12. Lower the alternator to allow access to the electrical connectors.
    13. Disconnect the crankshaft sensor.
    14. Release the oxygen sensor connector locator from the bracket.
    15. Remove the lower alternator bolt.
    16. Disconnect the regulator electrical connector.
    17. Disconnect the remaining wiring from the alternator and remove the alternator
    To Install:
    1. Position the alternator on the engine while making the necessary electrical connections.
    2. Connect the voltage regulator electrical connector.
    3. Install oxygen sensor connector locator in bracket.
    4. Connect crankshaft sensor.
    5. Raise alternator and install upper alternator bolts (left side bolt is installed with alternator). Torque upper and lower bolts to 18 lb-ft. (25Nm).
    6. Position the wiring harness locator and install nut.
    7. Install the alternator splash shield and the screws.
    8. Position crankshaft pulley and install bolt (reverse thread). Torque to 74 lb-ft. (100Nm)
    9. Remove the flywheel holding tool.
    10. Install the inner fender splash shield.
    11. Install the right front wheel.
    12. Install the torque converter inspection cover.
    13. Lower the vehicle.
    14. Install the power steering hose bracket nut from the alternator mounting bolt.
    15. Install accessory drive belt.
    16. Connect the battery ground cable.

    Need to reset the computer im getting monitor errors of egr and misfire and fuel and comp? its a 97 pontiac sunfire and was fine unil i changed plugs and wires and batt ....its a 2.2. 160 worry free well...

    if this is only a four cylinder then it shouldn't take you too long to put all the original 'plugs' and wires back in, (and only use the original style replacement plugs whenever you're wondering what kind to install), i have had problem with the fancier plugs in the past, so i"ve always stuck with stock NGK plugs and never a problem. Now see if it will return to the original problem and at least start normally... egr/misfire ... if it doesn't start, and you are positive about it not being miswired, then put back in the "old" battery, and if it starts, i would say you got a weak battery. If it still doesnt start could be a bad computer or ECM. And as far as the coils go, My manual says the way you can tell that your coils are original, is that you will see the coil position numbers located on them...the replacements are left blank so that they can be used in any position.. if you are positive after doing all this, and its not mis wired, then I would reseat the harness connectors located on the computer ( with battery being disconnected). leave battery disconnected for a minimum 10 minutes.
    How many cold cranking amps is the battery? You probably have a 525, but i would say next time get something with about 600 cold cranking amps. Also check that your battery cables are in good condition, on tight, and has no corrosion. Give this a try, i still hope you have all the original parts!

    Have you removed the original connector from you original stereo? If you still have the original connector in place you can get a new connector from the Ford dealer that will plug into your existing wiring and into your new deck. Ford connections are unique to Ford and you need to adapt them for this application.

    Take the car and deck to the dealer and tell them what you need. Everything just plugs in and your original amp and speakers in the car will work.

    Having said that there was an adapter available at Wal Mart of all places that did work. You may want to check there.

    If you have removed the original connector then you need a wiring diagram.

    The amp is located under the rear passenger side window. You need to remove the plastic side wall to expose it if you need access there. You can trace the wiring if needed.

    Under the front bottom edge of the rear seat are clips holding the seat in place. Open the clips and the seat lifts off. You can then get to the amp as needed.

    Need to know the wires to install a deck for 97

    Red is power to from ignition to cd deck
    Yellow is direct power from battery to cd deck to hold the memory.
    Black is ground
    Blue is only needed if you are hooking up an amplifier.
    I always suggest buying a wire harness quick connect system for $5, then you won't have to cut origional car wiring. If by chance you are taking the original wire route, then go to to find which wires on the car are for what.

    How to connect ap to stock radio in 97 explorer

    Wal Mart has the Complete Amp Install Kit. You will need this. Go to and Locate an RCA Jack Converter. It is a Blue Box that cuts in to the Rear Speaker Wires and Supplies the RCA Jacks that you will need for this Installation.

    Original radio wiring harness

    Google Volvo wiring diagram. They are available free. The diagram shows the wire location and colors. Otherwise, run a continuity test with a simple meter to discover a connection with some resistance between a pair of wires. If you here a click or two, from the speakers, you have found the right pair. Continue and label the pairs left, right, front,rear, until all are identified. Then reconnect. A pain but not rocket science.
