Sometimes the cruise control does work and sometimes it doesn't
If the switch sometimes works and other times doesn't - the switch probably needs to be replaced. You could try to spray electrical contact cleaner into it to try to blast any dirt out of it - but short of that, replacing the switch will probably be needed.
Many "big box" and hardware stores have some form of this. Do not use any oil or lubricant.

ok, this is a issue with the module under the hood. its malfunctioning. i recommend taking it to a mechanic so they can replace the cruise module assembly. this is the device that actually initiates the throttle action. its malfunctioning.
