U have not said what it is doing but if it is moving some of the way on its own and does so slowly then u have a problem with the pump. it could be low on oil or it may need to be replaced. you can find them at a good price from junk yard. this is all the help I can offer with the information provided. hope it helps

Could be one of the windings in the pump motor is shot and only running on half power. Sounds to me like you need a new motor.

Heating system sometime works and sometime does not work.

will try to help. sounds like a low coolant problem, remove radiator cap w/engine running, being very careful, contents under pressure! suggest you start it after it;s cooled down, then proceed with radiator cap removal. you can visually check the coolant level in the radiator this way.as the engine warms, the coolant should start to flow around inside so you can see it moving. top the radiator off with proper coolant,anti-freeze,green.turn your heat on high while waiting on engine to reach it's operating temperature.top or fill coolant level to the top of radiator, replace the cap and check for proper coolant level on tha plastic jug, to the side of radiator,if low fill to warm level, you should be able to see proper coolant level on the side of the plastic jug.if this does'nt repair your problem you may have a bad thermostat in the engine.if you need instructions on thermostat replacement, please post you question for instructions, with engine size, year and make and model of your car and we'll be happy to help!!thank you for choosing fixya.com and we look forward to assisting you in the future.!!

I left top half way up while cleaning rear galass. now top will not go down. got trunk working & roll bars go up and down. when i unlatch the top i hear nothing. normally you can tell the top is...

first try with disconnect battery ground cable, disconnect cable an leave 2 minute then fix it back and have a look, if not work now it's position uneven, you must close the roof slowly by hand up to locking position after that first operate the switch for closing and let it lock properly then till lock the boot lid to the right position with two flaps then switch off ignition let it stay 5 minute without doing any thing and, after that open the roof, if not work in this way you must fix Mercedes diagnose tool in to the car for manual activation through diagnose tool, and also would like to ask you to check the boot separation flap again is it in the right position if it not close properly it won't work,

My back window is pooping out of my convertible top. How do I fix without replacing the whole top?

Good Evening, there are several ways to go about it. First off your local upholstery shops can assist you in some way with that without changing the whole top with their assistance. Some glass places can prime the glass and you can get some fuzor to glue it back down. You have a couple options to explore now, hope this helps.
Thanks,
Joey

How to put top down 1998 BMW Convertible

depends on what type of top you have (full power or power assisted).

if power assisted, then release the latches on the inside where the top meets the windshield, then hit the button on the lower dash (its near the button for the heated seats & traction control) and give it a little push with your hand to start it folding. it has a picture of a side window & top on it. pushing it one way lowers the top. you have to be in park (or drive with foot on brake) to lower it. hold the switch down, the side windows will lower a bit and the top will begin to move. keep holding it till the top tucks under the boot and the windows begin to go back up, then release it. if the light on this button is not flashing when you release it, then the top is tucked away properly. if still flashing, then keep it depressed until the top folding sequence is complete.

if a fully automatic top (you will not have latch releases on the top where it meets the windshield), then simply hit the button as described above. no need to push on the top during the beginning sequence. keep holding it until the windows begin to go back up, then release it.

for both, watch the top as it tucks into the boot. sometimes if the top is not properly aligned, the top cloth may not tuck correctly and may require some help from you. the sequence can be stopped any time, but the red light on this button will flash.

to put it back up, simply hit the button in the opposite manner and the sequence will start with the rear boot lifting up first. fully auto tops will lock automatically to the windshield. power assisted tops will require to lock the top. if red light on this button still flashes when released, then the sequence is not complete or has encountered an error.

hope this worked for you.
