Turn the key and power comes on in the cab and everything works but engine doesn't turn over, doesn't seem to turn anything, is it a starter issue or something with the ignition

+Check the battery connections and make sure they are both tight. Also make sure the shift is in Park correctly and foot on brake.

If the starter only makes a clicking sound it is either a bad electrical connection on the battery or the starter, or a bad starter. It COULD also be a bad ignition switch but as a last resort. Usually it is a bad connection. Check the battery for a good charge. Should be around 12 to 14 volts. 10 or less and you probably have a bad cell in the battery. Get it checked at any auto store for free.

FROM MY DEALING WITH CARS IN THE PAST IT SEEMS LIKE THE STARTER MOTOR.........IT HAS A SOLENOID ON IT AND IF THIS DOES NOT ENGAGE...YOUR STARTER MOTOR WILL NOT TURN.....

Very unlikely it is the switch. Remove starter and have it checked. If good. Check natural safety switch

SOURCE: 95 F150 wont crank

the starter should be replaced. The solenoid is kikcing the pinion out but there is no contact being made to turn the starter motor. I have the exact same truck and before i changed the starter used the old starter tap trick. Tap the starter casing with a hammer and it should start turning again. hope this was helpful for you. Good luck.

SOURCE: have power but when i turn key i get nothing. no click,no starter???

I had a similiar problem, I had a bad sensor at the back of the engine, it was connected by 2 hoses to the EGR pick up tube.
I unplugged the sensor and the car started, I drove it to the parts store and replaced the part and it ran great after.

Are you saying the engine will not start, or not crank ?
The cam sensor does not come into play until the engine is cranking.

Car ran fine put gas in it came home shut it off went to leave and it wont start

Does the engine turn over? If it does, then check to see if the check engine light comes on when you turn the key to the on position. If it doesn't, then the PCM is not receiving power. Check the orange power wire usually located by the battery to make sure it isn't damaged. Repair if necessary. If the check engine light comes on when the key is turned to on then crank the engine while observing the light. Does it go out while cranking? If it doesn't, then a problem with the crank sensor signal is indicated. If it does go out then the problem might be fuel related. Disconnect the air cleaner hose to the throttle body. Have someone crank the engine over while opening the throttle slightly. Spray starting fluid into the engine to see if it tries to start. If it does then a fuel related problem is indicated.
CAUTION : Wear safety glasses during this procedure. Be careful around moving engine parts.

Car wont start when engine is cool

sounds like a glow plug problem,if it starts o.k. when warm, but not when cold, does it smoke a lot when trying to start it cold,if so i would say your glow plugs are either burned out or theres no power to them when you turn on the key,do you see the glow plug light on the dash,it may light, but that doesn,t mean the glow plugs are getting power

Engine died, everything else normal. plugged obd2 in and it wont even turn the unit on. is the computer freid?

did you turn the ignition key on when you plugged in the obdII code reader? some of them need to get power from the dlc(diagnostic link connector) to work. it is possible the ecm(pcm) has failed but you could also have a bad ground for it. does the engine crank over? when you said everything else is normal, do all the dash lights and gauges come on before you try to start the engine? by the way the ecm/pcm is covered by federal emissions warranty for 8 years or 80k miles(except california).
