Question about 2002 Buick Rendezvous

My air conditioner compressor in my 2002 buick rendezvous stopped working.

The air conditioner in my 2002 rendezvous was not blowing cold while at an idle. Now it has quit altogether. The compressor is not coming on. I put a gauge on it and it reads in the red zone. How do you check for low freon when compressor is not on?

The compressor will go on automatically once you start charging the system. Just add a can and see if it comes on.

The best bet is to have a tech look at it but get out your wallet. As I said, normally the compressor only goes on when it has to. When charging the system it will only go on in short bursts at first and then as more R134 is added it will stay on longer and longer. If your system is bone dry, you have a leak anyways so just adding will be a very short term fix. The leak needs to be fixed. You can gamble and add leak sealer ,, Ihave had some good luck with the brand that seals metal and not just rubber leaks. K Mart sells it. Some vehilces with rear air get a leak in those lines that run under the vehicle to the reay section. They do sell a kit to cap off those lines on Ebay but the 2 caps cost $50. If your system is empty it should be vacuumed anyways to get all the air and moisture out. You can try the quick fix with leak sealer and a charge first but no guarantees that will do it. You could get off with around $30 in costs or lose the money if it fails to seal your system. AC is tricky and can require a trained tech to really solve the issue.

Take to a shop that has the proper gauges and ability to vacuum the system properly. Do not simply try and add Freon as it only causes an air gap and false readings. In addition, some cars require a resetting of values on the cars computer brain in order to function properly.

2002 Buick Rendezvous no heat and over heated after warming it up for over 30 minutes.

Have a pressure test done on your cooling system, you sound like you could have a leak in your system or your system just needs to have the air bled from it. Check your coolant level also, with air in the system and not enough coolant it will blow cold and cause overheating.

was system evacuate by pumping it down using vacuum pump to remove all moisture out of the system.most time of the time when i work on AC system you have pump it down from 30 minutes to a hour.pump it until low pressure gauge read 30 hgs in the green area.i shut down vacuum pump close off manifold gauge valves see if low pressure side reading stay at 30 hgs or drop if gauge needle stop dropping have leak in the AC system.if all is good you have temperature air door problems.air door not opening all cool air to circulate through AC vents.

Problem with heating and air conditioning. The driver's side is blowing hot air and the passenger side is blowing cold air

Air Conditioner blows warm air
  1. Air conditioner system is discharged. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by an MVAC certified technician, utilizing approved recovery/recycling equipment. Repair as necessary.
  2. Air conditioner compressor clutch not engaging. Check compressor clutch wiring, electrical connections and compressor clutch, and repair or replace as necessary.
