Just gave my 1995 mitsubishi mirage a tune up and drove it. suddenly it lost a bunch of power but was still drivable. got it home and checked it and it was only running in two cylinders.

It sounds more like the electrical connections are disrupted. Did you replace the entire plug wires? They do fail after a few years in use, and the older carbon wires especially go down.

SOURCE: 1995 Mitsubishi Mirage, 1.8L engine distributor replacement

They should be able to do that. Give them the yr , make, model, enginesize and you mention the rotor cams. I've never heard that term except when speaking of point type ignitions.. Is this a point type? Do not be concerned about pulling the old one unless you need the car. Then, take the car to them and you can do your comparisons ther at the store, Good Luck What is your concern about pulling it out? -Ned
