Drivers side window won't roll up or down but can roll passenger side and back windows up and down

It s probable the window switch, especially on driver's side because its the one that's used the most. Switch replace involves removing door card and minor mechanics under it. U-tube has a video on the subject, if you're not up to repair, contact local repair shop or dealer.

You need a new window regulaor. they're cheap and easy to replace if you have some mechanical ability.

The clip(s) have come off and the window is off track on the drivers side of my 1995 Buick Century. The window is about halfway down

Remove door panel by prying away gently also searching for the screws that will be at the door pull, or handle area. they may have a cover that just snaps away, exposing them. remove screws and with panel removed examine the mechanism that operates motor or hand crank. It it possible to manually turn the mechanism and get window up and if you are really handy you will be able to repair/fix unit. Motors are available on ebay, dealers, and local auto salvage yards.

Need to replace the passengers side, front door window crank and assembly, the window will not roll up, I pulled the door panel and seen the cable laying in there, it appears to have a broken plastic...

The mechanism is called a window regulator and you have to replace the entire unit if a plastic piece broke that supports the cable. The mechanism is bolted to the door. alldatadiy.com is a great pro grade shop manual.

My 1989 buick skyhawlk passenger side window keeps falling its not electric

your window crank mechanism in the door is striped or bent, remove inner door panel and inspect window parts, look in bottom of door for possible parts that may have fallen off. KEEP all fingers clear of moving parts as if the window falls or something you could loose or injure them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cant express enough but be careful. I have had cars fall on me, smashed fingers, broken fingers, broken hand, all due to car repairs so believe me when i say a mechanical window mechanism will remove or smash a finger very easily.

Hello I had the problem on passenger side window, and had to replace the full mechanism, which is rather costly. I now have the problem on the driver side window; I would like to avoid changing the whole...

OK, changing the computer won't solve a mechanism issue for either the passenger or driver's side. The mechanism you refer to is called a 'window regulator' and yes, parts can be purchased instead of replacing the whole unit.

However, if you get one from a salvage yard, the cost of it can be competitive with getting new parts that fix only part of the window mechanism.

In practice, changing the whole mechanism is indicated to get the window working correctly, even if it means going to a salvage yard to get the expected discount.

Good luck on this repair.

REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR PANEL

There are most likely a couple of screws mabye hidden under a little plug or plastic cover around the door handle and on the under side of the panel. Then if it is a crank style window you will have to remove the window crank handle, after that there are plastic panle pop clips you will just have to pull on panle and they should pop out, then lift the panle up off the window door seal.
