This could be something like your power steering pump or motor going out, some have electric steering, and it could also be that you need a four wheel alighnment.

Also check the power steering fluid if you dont have electric steering. The cap is under the alternator.

SOURCE: can't find the transmission dip stick and power

You wont fine one because There is no dipstick. The transmission is equipped with a check plug on the transmission behind the engine underneath and design for professional service technician. the engine has to be running and the plug removed with transmission being level. If any fluid comes out then the level is ok

SOURCE: I have a 2006 Pontiac G6 and I can't get the car

Make sure that your shift lever is all the way into the "Park" position. Failure to have it all the way in park will cause the key to get stuck and the starter to not turn your engine over.

If you are sure that the shifter is all the way in Park. then your key cylinder could be faulty and you are most likely locked out from starting the car by the Security System. With a faulty key cylinder, the Security System "thinks" that someone is trying to steal the car and locks out the starter and the fuel system.

Replacement of the key cylinder requires re-programming of the computer system so that the security system will recognize the new cylinder and allow the car to start.

SOURCE: The power steering light is on in my 2007 Pontiac G5 Coupe

  • You have Electric Power Steering (EPS) not the traditional power steering pump. So there is no place to put power steering fluid in your vehicle.

  • Hope this helps.

My steering wheel is hard to turn i am driving a 2005 pontiac g6 power steering is very hard to turn how ca this be fixed

My guess is the power steering belt is missing, snapped, or so slack it does not drive the PS pump.
Get someone to check/adjust.
Check there is oil in the reservoir. Fill with correct oil.

2008 pontiac g6 steering wheel removal procedure

1
Turn on your car. Turn the steering wheel so the front tires are pointing directly forward. Turn off your car.
2
  • Pop the hood on your car and disconnect the black and red battery cables from the battery with pliers. By disconnecting the battery you will prevent the airbag and horn from malfunctioning or blowing.
  • 3 Take the center cover off of your steering wheel. There should be four to six screws on the back side of the steering wheel. Unscrew these, then pry the cover off with a flathead screwdriver.
  • 4 Remove the retaining clip on the center of your steering wheel with pliers. Place the correct size socket on the retaining nut, and loosen the nut, unscrewing it one turn.
  • 5 Lie back in the seat and prop your knees under the bottom/sides of the steering wheel. Apply pressure on the back side of the steering wheel with your knees by pushing on your toes.
  • 6 Place the rubber mallet over the retaining nut with your left hand. Apply pressure with your knees. With your right hand, bang on top of the rubber mallet until the steering wheel pops loose.
  • 7
  • Unscrew the retaining nut completely and remove the steering wheel.

2005 Pontiac G6 wont turn ignition cylinder with key. Tried to move shifter back and forth , pressed brake pedels , emergency brake. Still nothing. I am thinking its a locksmith issue. Any ideas? Thanks.

Try turning the steering wheel from side to side as you turn the key.I know there isnt really any wiggle room in the steering now,but you don't need to actually move the wheel very far, you are just putting enough weight on the wheel to take the load off of the steering wheel locking mechanism which is in a bind right now.
