I own a 2001 Dodge Intrepid and this use to happen to me. I replaced my crankshaft position sensor and it's working fine now. Oh by the way, it will be underneath the vehicle towards the middle of the front seats outside the car. Let me know if that worked out for you. I only paid $12.00 at AutoZone after purchasing too many sensors figuring the problem which cost me over $50.00 per sensor. Good luck and take care. :-)

SOURCE: wont shift out of lower gear

First thing I need to ask is when the filter & Fluid was last changed. If recently, Did they replace old fluid with ATF4 from Mopar/chrysler? Chrysler transmissions are very temperamental, especially with any other transmission fluid running in them, even though many mechanics, transmission places etc, may argue with me, it is a known fact. First, disconnect your + battery connection for a couple of minutes, then reconnect, and try that to see if it helps. If not, and fluid & filter haven't been changed in a while, I'd spend the money & have it done, but using only Mopar ATF4 from a Chrysler dealer.

SOURCE: 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD 5.9L fuel pump or???

Code 12 doesn't correlate, but Code 1282 may provide some insight. Code 1282 is "The fuel pump relay circuit seems to be having a problem", which would explain the disconnect/reconnect trick that sporadically works. Have the relay circuit looked at.

SOURCE: car wont start

Sounds like the computer to me as well, but sometimes you can reset it by disconnecting it at the computer (3 plugs). If that doesn't work try leaving it disconnect over night. there may be a short in the system causing the computer to over heat.

SOURCE: car wont start! has full tank of gas, battery is fine!

Ensure that your fuel pump is okay. You might need to make a change on that cos that will definately be the cause.

Car will start drive fine for couple days then i go out the next day wont start

Hi Jc, A fully charged battery is 12.6. The link below is a short youtube video on how to find out if a car battery has a power drain, The video starts with the guy loosening the negative lead to the battery then turns the multimeter on and sets it to 20 DC, plug bottom of lead to current mode and places 1 multimeter lead on top of the terminal inside the negative lead and the other multimeter lead on the negative lead and wiggle the negative lead off the battery, The current being drawn from your battery should be less than (5.0) 50 mille volts..... The reason he takes the negative lead off after connecting the multimeter this is to save any codes from the car as technically the battery isn't disconnected.....CHEERS..

How to Find Car Battery Drain

On a 2004 Buick rendezvous there is a little red light that keeps blinking expect when the car is running. I'm pretty sure its draining my battery. Any suggestions?

That little red light is your anti-theft system and it does not drain enough power to drain your battery unless your car is sitting for a year. I would check for a draw. Unhook your negative battery cable and hook a test light between the cable and the negative terminal. If the light lights up brightly, then you have something draining the battery at a significant rate. I start by unhooking the main cable off of the alternator, this is a prime place to start for a battery drain. If unhooking the alternator does not dim the test light then move on to the power distribution center and pull fuses and relays one at a time until the light dims, this will at least narrow down the circuit that needs attention.

I just changed the fule pump relay fuse and cam position senor today and i crank my car over but wont start.

Unhook the negative battery cable for ten minutes. This will clear any trouble codes. Reconnect the cable and try to start it.

93 jeep cherokee, will not start, not getting fuel...if i unhook the negative cable to the battery it will start after waiting a half hour or so to hook the cable back up.

If the check engine light does NOT come on when cranking at the times when it won't start, then your ECU is in need of repair. The engine will only start after the check engine light comes on and the ecu is what controls that. It's likely going bad, causing the delayed start problem typical of early 90's jeeps. Repair or replacement services for your jeep ECU are available on ebay.

I have a key symbol light come on on the dashboard and the car wont start now, please help, what dos it mean?

This is your security or anti-theft light. Check your owners manual first, but I have reset them on other cars by unhooking the negative battery cable for a minute or two, then using the key fob to lock and unlock the doors a couple of times. I believe your car has a microchip in the key, so make sure nobody tried to start it with a hardware store copy.

Car keeps going dead overnight. we have checked the alternator and it is good, we just can't figure out what's wrong with it

You have a draw, something is pulling the battery down when the car is not in use, unplug the alternator, and let the car set over night to see if the battery stays up,make sure the light in the trunk, inside, and hood, are not left on,if the vehicle will start up the next day, then the alternator is bad.
