Had this issue before and ended up replacing power door actuator as magnets would not dis-engage to allow door to be opened even manually

Were is the fuse for power door lock on a 2004 dodge caravan

Your door locks are controlled by the body control module. It monitors the amount of current draw on the lock and unlock circuits, and when the draw goes across a threshold it will disable the locks to preserve itself from internal damage. It sets a fault code and doesn't allow the locks to work again until the code is cleared, this is why the locks works again after you disconnect the battery or pull the IOD fuse. Doing this clears the fault code.

The original BCM software was a little sensitive and could disable the locks a little prematurely. There was a revision to the BCM software to make it more fault tolerant so this wouldn't happen as easily. The fix is to have your BCM software reprogrammed to the current software version. This will have to be done by a dealer and will take about a half hour to complete.
Pull the IOD (BCM) fuse to reset the system. See if this will fix the door locks, at least for some time. The IOD fuse is on the left side of the fuse box under the hood, it is a 15 AMP fuse.

The power door locks are not functioning, either with the remote, or pressing the lock switch on the door panel. any clues??

First try pulling and re-inserting or replacing the IOD fuse. You can find it on the lower right side of the fuse box under the hood. If that doesn't work you have a short and need to see a mechanic.

Key/door power lock does not work

A short term fix is to pull the IOD fuse, wait about 10 seconds then replace it again. You'll have to reset your clock, which is annoying but the locks will work again. In the past 3 days, I've had to pull this twice because my locks quit--Hoping to find a more permanent solution.

Automatic door locks

I just had this problem tonight, did a Yahoo search and happened on this site, just tried pulling the IOD fuse (located in the covered panel next to the battery BTW), and re-installed it, and everything works again. Thanks for the tip!

There is a BCM (Body Control Module) update that the dealer needs to do to fix this problem. Check out the ChryslerForum.com They have a lot of answers on this problem...
