Question about 2001 Saab 9-3
Warning lights on panel for check engine and auto transmission) came on as car went into limp mode. Later car worked fine but lights were still on display. Now won't get out of limp mode and error P1623 comes up.

i have had that problem myself . i replaced the electrical part of the ignition switch and it solved those problems. should be done by experienced technician. not a simple job for beginner.you must remove center console and switch is under shifter assembly

Check the battery and the Alternator. Sometimes with these Saabs, when the alternator or the battery start to go bad, you will have many different symptoms all to do with just one issue. You can remove the battery and the alternator, take it to a parts store and they do free testing on those and they can tell you if either is bad or not. The Alternator needs to be out of the vehicle to be tested.

Could be that a sensor has failed.My suggestion would be have local shop scan it....Could be so many things.......
