SOURCE: my 2001 ford F150 is leaking water from above the trans

First off, is this water or antifreeze? If it's water it could be coming from the heat/air conditioning. If it's antifreeze, it's probably either a heater hose or the back of the intake manifold.

I have a coolant leak on a 97 sunfire 2.4l engine.when looking at the engine,is the water pump on the left side or to the right of the engine.

the water pump is in the back of the engine. if you stand at the passengers side fender and look at the motor it is on your left side next to the fire wall, and it is run by the timing chain

I have ran hot with my radiator cap off the car killed, never came back on. what do i need fixed?

If you ran your car out of radiator fluid and it cut off and stopped running, and then you added water..you have probably cracked the block and will need to either rebuild this motor or replace with a rebuilt motor.
If the car starts and is leaking water from under the middle of the motor it could be the water pump....but more than likely you have blown the engine. Sorry.

Im leaking radiator fluid pretty badly and it leaks when i drive and but leaks all over the ground when it sits and its not the hoses and i just resealed the thermostate housing and now its leaking agian i...

I would look at the water pump. It either that or your radiator draped out. Park it after it hot and put a box under the belt area between belt and motor and under the radiator. That should help narrow it down a bit. Hope this helps

2001 Ford F150 5.4 engine water leak on top of engine under intake

I have read a few complaints about the plastic intake manifolds leaking. There may also be a heater hose on the rear of the engine leaking. You may be able to tighten the bolts starting from the middle and across then equally front and back. I do not have torque specs. but you may not have a torque wrench. You may get away with just tightening the bolts and not having to disassemble anything.
