Quickest increase is a properly fitted and tunes turbo . Talk to a turbo shop to get what a tirbo can give you in extra hp.

SOURCE: 88 chevy c 1500. The tranny will not shift to OD

yea thats possible, the trans has servos that change gears, have a diagnostic done at a trasmission shop, a quick hook up to a computer will tell if there are any servo faults, it may be a minor issue and just needs a adjustment, or could be a sign that the whole trans is on its way out. but you should have it checked as soon as possible. good luck and take care

SOURCE: truck drives for over two hours and losses power..

clean your air filter, clean or replace your cap and rotor, basic tune up stuff should help you. that 6 cylinder is reveared by ford guys like my self as being bullet proof, hard to kill, but you gotta keep them tuned up, if you have alot of miles on it, over 200000 which is very common for that engine to achieve then tuning is important for longevity

Where is fuel filter on 1988 ford bronco?

I believe you will find your fuel filter on the driver side frame rail. There is also a little device that in the event of a roll over cuts off the power to the fuel pump. It is usually located in the passenger side kick panel of most Ford's. There is a button on it. If it is popped out you need to press it in to reset it. It is similar to a GFI. Ground fault interrupt circuit.

Cold air will help and free flowing exhaust. Headers and duals would give you the increased HP you are looking for. Make sure all sensors are reinstalled on any mods.

Improve towing

are you looking at improving fuel econ or power ?

fuel econ can be increased by 3-5 mpg by installing a torque converter lock up control gale banks makes a great one but there are others

short bursts of added power can be added by a propane injection system there's a bunch of mfg's of these just google it and you'll see

these are the lowest cost things i know of

of course for more money there are belt driven blower kits you can add
these add 20 to 100 hp and can cost 1200 to 4500 bucks depending on what kit you want

Ohh and another way low cost way to increase both MPG and Power is to increase your exaust pipe size to 4 inches Plus++++ but be carefull
ck your local laws about mod pipes on trucks there not legal everywhere
