Should be located on fire wall directly behind engine,Connect gauges and bleed off system slowly. If you do not have guages most parts houses like Advanced auto parts and Autozone have a loaner program. Then lines will unbolt from evalve then there will be 1 or 2 bolts holding evalve to evap core.Be shure to replace all orings.Proper charge amount will be on lable under hood.By bleeding refrigerant off slowly will not need to add oil..

Hi there,

It is located on the lower right rear of the engine. Don't confuse it with the temperature sensor for the computer which is located on the top rear right of the engine.

Hope this initial info helps.

Where is the Vapor Canister Purge Valve located on a 1999 cadillac catera

My 99 Deville has purge valve right on top of engine (Northstar) just rearward of throttle body. Looks like a black almost round cylinder the size of a roll of quarters with a wire connector out the back. Easy to remove and replace, and a common part to fail and set emission code.
If you are sure it's bad, buy one and you should be able to find the old one by looking at the new part.

1999 cadillac catera there is oil in the spark plug hole why is that. it was running when it was parked, I was changing the ignition switch.everything seems to be fine, it turns over but will not start.

oil in the spark plug hole means that you need new valve cover gaskets. replace valve cover gaskets and change spaekplugs and the car may start.
