SOURCE: When wipers are turned off they park in vertical

This is most likely the result of a bent park tab on the wiper motor bracket. To repair this install a new wiper motor crank arm (#12494832) and a wiper motor bracket service kit (#88958149). This is a common problem among many 2002 Buick Regals and Centurys.

SOURCE: winshield Wiepers,1998 Buickregal

apparently, something inside the wiper motor spun and now it thinks the down position is the up position.

a new wiper motor is my only suggestion since the sensors/controls in these motors arent user serviceable.

Good luck and be careful!

SOURCE: Resetting wiper arms. Ice damage

Well pop the two little black plastic top hats off of the wiper arm mounts and losen the nuts. Turn your wipers off and tighten them in the lower position. There should be visible mark on the widshield where the wipers have spent most of there time sitting. If you have them to low when you turn them on you will be able to tell by how high the go up on the windshield.Well hope this helped.

2004 jeep wipers don't park just stop wherever

sounds like the intermitent wiper reley or the switch or repley
change reley first might be stuck on
bes way to test is slowely move wiper switch to different positions if in between setings and wipers stop then it's likely the switch

2001 Pontiac montanaThe front wipers park in the up position

This is a common problem with Chevy Venture, Olds Silhouette, and  Pontiac Montana. The mechanical wiper drive and parking cam assembly, if it's not broken, needs adjustment. The spring loaded stop arm should engage the vertical tab on the assembly mounting plate when the wiper motor reverses. See pic.  9a7b0af.jpg
I will upload the instructions to fix this problem, if there is interest.

Wipers

Try running a ground wire from the wiper motor unit...to a ground on the body of the vehicle. Any place solid will do. Many wiper issues are due to broken ground circuits. Good luck. Chip
