3 engines, all three different electrics.
got DRL LAMPS AS SEEN IN CANADA, GUESS NO!
highs and lows both sides, not fogs DEAD.?
do park lamps work?
does the FLASH lever on column work???????????
we do that first. not guess.
the schematic is clear, read that yet.? I AM FOR YOU
usa car,? good luck finding an iSUSU dealer here ,most are BUGGED OUT NOW. LONG AGO.
02 ASUNDER FACTS NEXT, SURE RELAYS FAIL, H3LL ALL DO THAT, THE CONTACTS BURN UP, ONE REASON WE USE TRANSISTORS NOW, TO END THAT.
btw ,in industry been doing SSR,since late 70s, car makers are slow to learn.
but relays are dirt cheap.... so..... end sidetrack....

first are fuses. Im assuming car runs and drive,me blind cant watch you. or car.

fuse 53 small engine under hood box all fuses HL
fuse 56 largest 2.engines
so why not check fuses first any time electrics fail
test them not just guess, ones looking ok can be bad (facts)
...we test fuses live in the car.... are using voltmeter,
there are 4 more fuses, 2 for low and 2 for high
but all 4 can NOT blow out so, ill now skip those.
ther are 2 head lamp relays, here is to my betting both DID NOT FAIL the same day,. High relay and Low relay
get my drift?

The BCM brain controls both relays HL
the BCM listens to digital switche you turn or flip.

.
seems this is very simple problem 1 fuse blown
DRL is 3 pages of text and tests
sorry not doiing that now, or ever
the service manual covers all that. and this.

Recall for this, it's just your low beam relay under the hood.

Both headlights went out at the same time ? i still have side lights, spots and main beam

Depending on the year and model Ford, there could be fuses for the headlights, or a circuit breaker inside the headlight switch.
The dimmer switch could have failed.

Headlights went out on a 98 ford escort while driving

if both headlights went out at the same time, check your fuses. because high beams use more power than headlights, they are often on a separate fuse. if fuses are fine, replace the headlights.

My headlights went out both at the same time but i checked the fuses under the dash and they are good so what could be the problem?

Check the fuses under the hood. There is a black fuse box. If they are all good double check the bulbs. I had a lot of people that drove around with one headlight and didn't realize it then the other one burns out later and there is no headlights causing them to think they both went out at the same time. If that stuff is all okay I would replace the headlight switch and if by slim chance that don't work I would replace the multi function switch. One of them things should fix your problem.

Both headlights went out at same time

Headlight switch,or dimmer switch,or the bulbs are blown,if they are blown, have the alternator checked to make sure there are no over charging going on.

Headlights don't work. Both went out at the same

Have you checked the fuses? The headlights should be on their own fused circuit. Check that. If that doesn't work, you may need a new headlight switch. There are hundreds of these cars in the junkyards, finding a new headlight switch should be a piece of cake. Good luck.
