A/c compressor won't engage 2005 equinox

most likely the ac compressor will not engage because it needs a freon charge. The simple way to tell if that is why without having special equipment is to find the pressure switch located on the low pressure line and jump the switch with a peice of wire. if the clutch engages when you jump the switch then you need to charge the ac with 134 a freon

Help 2008 ford fusion heater and ac stopped working

1) TEST the fuse+ relar of a/c
see the next steps and fix it. God bless you
If so, the compressor is working and the A/C system probably contains enough refrigerant to make cold air, so the problem is inside the HVAC unit. Replace the motor that controls the blend air door (this is a difficult job and best left to a professional since it involves tearing apart the HVAC unit -- about an 8 to 10 hour job!).
If the compressor does not engage when you turn on the A/C, see if it will run by jumping the compressor clutch wire directly to the battery (use a fused jumper wire). If the compressor works when you jump it, and the A/C blows cold air, the system contains refrigerant and the fault is likely a bad A/C compressor clutch relay or a bad clutch cycling switch or pressure switch.
If the compressor does not engage when you jump it, the problem is a bad compressor clutch.
If the clutch engages but the compressor does not turn (the belt will start to slip and squeal), the compressor is locked up and you need a new compressor.
If the compressor clutch engages and turns the compressor, but the A/C still does not blow cold air, the system is probably low on refrigerant and needs to be recharged

I have an 2000 f-250 super duty and my a/c doesnt work i have checked all the fuses and had it checked to see if its was low all was good i was told their is no power going to the compressor any even...

I don't have color codes here but i know that in your ford there is a fuse link going to the compressor. It's closer to the compressor itself so I would pull the wires go From the compressor back until you come acroos it. It's not that far from the compressor so you should need to pull to many wires. I would guess that would be the problem since you did try jumping it at the pressure switch. I hope this helps and good luck.

If I strap terminal 3 to 5 on the compressor relay the compressor comes on. What controls the compressor relay?

THE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH
SYSTEM IS PROBABLY LOW IN FREON
TO CONFIRM LOCATE LOW PRESSURE SWITCH AND JUMP
THE TWO PINS IF COMMPRESOR ENGAGES THR SYSTEM IS LOW
DONT LEAVE IT JUMP YOU WILL BLOW UP COMPRESSOR
NEEDS FREON TO CARRY COMRESSOR OIL TRUE OUT SYSTEM

1996 lincoln towncar. No a/c compressor engagement unless jumped

the control unit is no good.i had a similar situation with a 98 tracker, and installed a switch to give it a ground for the compressor relay that comes from the a/c computer module.
it works good and goes on and off with the a/c switch.

How do i jump ac compressor to see if if it

There's a low pressure switch on one of the aluminum tubings leading from the compressor. You can pop off the connector and jump it with a paper clip. Don't let it run long at all for you can cause damage to the compressor. Pick up a charge kit at Autozone for about $40 bucks. All instructions are there, it's quite simple nowadays.

A/c trouble

Hello, it sounds as if you have a problem with your tensioner jumping violently. When the defrost is on it uses the ac compressor that is why the belt jumps then to, but it sounds like you are going to be needing a compressor soon. It has a piston that is hanging up at a certain point and thats why it is jumping. It will break a brand new belt when it locks up,when that happens. Please rate my answer, thank you.
