Question about 2000 Pontiac Sunfire

1 Answer

Do I need a new relay switch for my automatic window.

We thought the regulator was out in my automatic window for my 2000 Sunfire, but once replaced the window would only go down not up. We are thinking that the relay switch has problem. Any ideas where to get a new one?

I have a 2000 chevy s10 2wd. Where is the relay switch to my drivers side window. The window switch is and the motor is good. But cant find the relay switch to check it and see if it's bad.

Sorry but there is no relay switch ! Go to www.bbbind.com free wiring diagrams .Check it out ! Your regulator is probably bad ! Is there B+ voltage at the switch , at the motor ?
Left Front Window Switch Operation
Place the ignition switch in the RUN position in order to supply battery voltage to the left front door lock and side window switch through the POWER WINDOW circuit breaker and the CKT 1001 (DK GRN). Press the left front window UP switch in order to supply battery voltage to the left front side window regulator motor through CKT 164 (DK BLU). The window motor is grounded through CKT 165 (BRN) and the window switch DOWN contact.
The regulator motor runs to drive the window to the UP position. Press the DOWN window switch in order to provide battery voltage to the window regulator motor in the opposite direction through CKT 165 (BRN). The window regulator motor is grounded through the CKT 164 (DK BLU) and the window switch UP contact. The motor runs in order to drive the window down.

Replaced alternator on sunfire now headlights wont work

Do the high beams work? How about he signal lights? seems to me a light relay (fuse) is gonzo. Basically, there is a light switch that is wired to a fuse/relay. From this fuse relay there is another wire that goes towards the headlights. Seeing both lights are not working chances are the fuse /relay is done for. Cheap and easy fix.

Dodge caravan 2000, power window will not function. Can I replace a fuse?

You can always replace fuses or relay switches, just give them a check. If it's not a fuse, you prbably need to replace the window regulator, it is easier than it sounds. Order the parts on line and have a screwdriver handy.

Why wont my 2000 sunfire start?

starter relay, ignition switch, park switch.need to use a volt meter and start at the starter, see if you have at least 12 volts.if there is have the battery tested.does your head lights come on?next no voltage, go to the fuse box under the hood and check for (2) 12 volt powers with the key on and a good ground.if ok replace the relay.next move the trans shifter to neutral with foot on brake and try and start if it starts you need park switch.if not next is the ign.switch to test, you will need to locate the starter wire and check for voltage when starting if none replace the ign.switch hope this helped.also the alternator has nothing to do with the cranking of the engine on this car.

You will most likely find that the widow regulator is faulty and needs replacing or the limit switch inside the door is faulty and will need to be replaced. I had the same problem on a 1993 500SEL on 2 rear windows but 2 new regulators and drilling out the limit switch rivets and replacing them with new switches sorted out the problem

Replacing a relay switch for drivers side window

The problem is usually the door switch. Go on ebay and match your part with one there and replace it. Cheap fix.
