Question about 1999 Dodge Ram

1 Answer

1997 Ram 1500 won't start after running a while

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500, V8 5.2 ltr, 150,000 miles. The problem is as follows: First thing in the morning, or after work, the truck fires right up, no problem. The issue comes in after the truck has been running, and if I make a stop along the way, when I come back out to start it, it just turns over like it isn't getting fuel. If I let it sit awhile, and the time varies, it will crank right up again. I can't figure this problem out and any help would be greatly appreciated.

1996 DODGE RAM 1500 4X4 5.9 LTR.. Problem is that

You have a blown heater core my friend. I have a quick fix and a permanent one. Quick fix is to unhook the hear lines from the fire wall and couple them together. That will stop it from over heating. 2 requires a friend and a full 6 hours. Remove the dash. I recommend getting a haynes manual for the dash removal. Hope this will point you in the right direction.

My 2001 dodge ram 1500 with 5.2L sometimes slips in overdrive. what could be causing it

Assuming its an automatic. Check the Transmission fluid first and foremost. Follow the instructions on the dip stick. If the fluid turns out alright then sorry to say but the clutch plates inside the transmission are going out. Transmission fluid could smell burnt. I had a 2000 ram and at 82000 miles thats when it started doing the same thing. I drove it til it wouldn't move forward or back.

1997 dodge 1500 starts fine when cold, won't restart when warm.

No, the coil the is not the problem. I would take the ignition module and have it tested. Even though it may not test bad b/c it is still cold, it is more than likely the problem. Have you checked to see if you are getting spark when the trouble occurs?

My 1996 Dodge Ram 5.2 is missing out and dies.

I had an oxygen sensor go out, and my dodge almost wouldnt run, i would reccomend replacing the bad oxygen sensor. The sensor could be telling the computer that there is to much fuel in the exhaust and cuts the fuel down enough to kill the engine, or vice-versa, Another thing could be the Intake air temperature sensor.
