Good chance your key is worn out. You may have to use more force to get it back and out turning the steering wheel at the same time. When you get it out, go to the dealer with your vehicle permit and have a new key cut. Don't get a key cut from your worn out key. I had the same problem with my 2000 grand prix. It might take some effort to get the key out and be careful not to break it off, but it will come out. Also try pushing the gear shift hard into park as the cable may be worn

well does the key go in does it turn to the start pos? if the dash dost power up its because the switch is bad if it will power up but not start it can be becuse of the resitor chip depends on what is going on if you cant get power its becuse of the switch

it mite be that ur steering wheel is lock to one side,,grab steering wheel & turn it left or right, it will move a little,,try turning key when u hold the steering wheel in the middle,,

Two inches below where you put the key in the ignition is a small hole. I use an allen wrench push it gently into the hole and the key will turn all the way back so you can get the key out. The dealer wanted 4hundred for a new ignition switch. allen wrench $1

• disconect battery for 30 seconds, reconect.
• try to start car, leaving key on for 10 minutes or untill security light stops blinking.
• Turn key off

then try to start car. if this doesnt work repeat procedure.

try tapping the key into the lock cylinder with a small hammer to break it loose,sounds like you need a new ignition lock cylinder and housing

unless u are familiar with air bag assemblies I suggest u take it to a qualified mechanic..if u accidently touch something wrong u can deploy the bag and cause serious harm to yourself..u have to remove the air bag in the steering column

I think that you must have been using a doblicate key to start the engine it cannot be you ignition cylinder or swithch.. while now you will need to get it open in order to take out the key ..
