Question about Cars & Trucks
There are a few issues it can be. Do you have access to a code reader? With a decent scan tool/reader you can view live data of sensors such as the idle throttle positioning sensor, idle speed control valve, crank sensor etc.. I'm sure its a sensor issue and nothing to be concerned about. If the tps is suspect you can disconnect it from the throttle body housing to intentionally through the car into "limp mode" aka get me home mode. This will bypass the sensor and keep the vehicle idling and determine its I fact the problem at hand. Because bit started at home and them shut off and now does not start at all, I suspect the crank sensor may be malfunctioning. The best way is not to through parts into the vechile but rather troubleshoot the problem at hand. A chiltons manual found at any major auto store chain such as Pepboys, advance auto parts, or napa would help tremendously as they have a "no start" trouble shooting guide that's fairly ez to follow if you have a basic understanding of automotive technology. Again, its most likely a low cost sensor you can purchase off eBay but with the lack of information you provide its difficult to pinpoint. You can expect to pay 200-500 for this type of no start condition from you're local repair shop. Another great resource is you're local honda dealer. Simple go in person. An ask to speak with a service writter. Explain the situation and push to have him pass the information to one of his technician. Dealerships get no start problems like this all the time. They can most likely here you're complaint and know exactly what sensor this is.
