Check the plastic or rubber plugs under the floor mats , replace if faulty if Ok check the heater and hoses under the dash for leaks, if Ok check the air con , there is a water outlet to get rid of condensation it may be blocked.

The drain plugs are located under the floor mats in the floor pan . If you look from underneath you will see the round plugs .If the carpets have been wet that bad then you will never get rid of the musty ( fungus) smell . consider new floor mats

SMELL FROM HEATER IN XF JAG

What kind of smell? Sweet like coolant or a musty, decomposing like smell? If sweet like antifreeze it could be your heater core if musty/mildewy or decomposing like smell try replacing your cabin air filter.

Musty smell from A/C in 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT SE

Most common cause is water sitting in the bottom of the a/c heater box. Make sure the outside drain is open. There are spray products for using on the vents.

Nasty molding musty smell...started iout of the blue. It is now early spring have not used A/C yet. It is making me sick

Musty smell comes from three possible situations.
First is simply a spilled liquid on the carpet. A thorough carpet cleaning will get this.
Second, water entering the body of the car. (IE: leaking door seals , window seals, or the hardest to find... coming in under the carpet from the floor pan) Barring leaks from the seals and spills, The floor pan has drain holes and rubber plugs that may dry out and allow water from below the car to enter.
Third, Your A/C unit is developing this condensation in the Air flow Box (complicated air flow box under dash holding your heater core and A/C core) This is a common problem, but requires a de-mold solution best applied by a Pro. You can buy over the counter solutions (sprays) and then make sure you run the heater after each A/C run. That works for many as it dries out the condensation the A/C produces.

Hope this helps.

2001 Chevy Lumina, The carpet on the front drivers side is wet and the air conditioner smells musty when running. What is causing this and how do I fix it?

its likely the drain , located under the vehicle , passenger side
is clogged , use a straw or shopm air to remove
the clog .
Spray lysol at where the passengers feet would be ,
while the a/c is running on max.

Water sprays and leaks from under the dash unto the floor.

Could be one of two things. One, your A/C drain is plugged or two, your heater core is leaking. If it looks and smells like musty water it is your drain. The drain is fairly easy to clean so the repair cost would be minimal. You can usually clean it yourself with a cloths hanger or screw driver. The drain is located on the firewall in the engine compartment, down low in the area of the heater fan.
Good luck.

The heater has a musty smell,I suspect i need to

It sounds to me if you are having a "musty smell" then you might have a problem with your condensation drain line for you a/c system or a small leak on your heater core. If it is plugged then water will collect in the vent system causing a musty smell from the water not draining and if there is a small leak on the heater core then coolant can collect in the vent system. I would run the a/c on a warm day and look for water draining from the vehicle around where the dash is located to check the drain line. As far as your air cabin filter most are located behind the glove box. You usually need to remove the glove box to get to the filter.

Wet floor

If this has happened since you started using the A/C it is probably the drain tube for the A/C. They get plugged and usually someone has to go under the car with a coathanger and open the tube up.

Van is leaking on the inside passanger front , under the glove bo

The drain that channels the condensation from the air conditioning system out onto the ground is most likely plugged, which backs it up onto the passenger side front floor. Clearing the drain should take care of it. Probably need to take it to someone who works on A/C or a dealer, relatively simple maintenance. If the moisture gets under the carpet, the musty smell will never leave, so take care of it promptly!
