Possible Battery Trouble of Suzuki Swift 07

I own a Suzuki Swift 07 model. I have since noticed that when i start the car the eps light stays on for a couple of seconds as well as the abs light (i think) and sometimes when i take of from 1st gear or go around a corner a bit fast my hand brake light comes on for a few seconds but the handbrake isnt loose? can anyone help do you think i may need a new battery?

SOURCE: battery warning light coming on after a mile , but

Check your alternator as it sounds like it may be starting to go. The battery light trips when it detects an issue with the charging system. Very rarely, the battery light can trip if there's an issue with the PCM, but this is very rare.

Take a voltmeter with the car off and measure the voltage on the leads of the batter, should be around 12V+-.2. With the car running, measure again and this time it should read 13V-14V. If it does read 13V-14V then it means that the alternator is working. If it is below 12V, then it means your alternator is not charging the battery properly. If it's above 14V, then it means your alternator is overcharging and damaging the battery.

SOURCE: bmw 330 ci warning lights going NUTS

You have to check the alternator's output while there is a load placed on it. Take it to a auto parts store the have it load tested. You may be able to determine if there is a problem by starting the car and turning on all of your accessories. Removing the battery cables not allowing them to touch the vehicle, if the alternator output is where it should be, the car should remain running. If thats fine, havbe the battery load tested to be sure its accepting the charge it being given by the alternator.

Yes this will defiantly blow the main engine fuse. This fuse is located in the engine compartment and is usually bolted down with 10mm bolts.

My dad purchased a suzuki swift new in 2009 from garage and it is now on its 3rd battery. The garage just replace the battery with a new one. What could be causing the battery to go flat

1- battery with low voltage or out of charge for several days 2- excessive usage of electrical equipment esp. the lights while the engine off 3- low battery fluid level 4- and rarely, hyper voltage supplied to the bat. 5- check the dynamo belt (loose)

Can you jump start a 2004 suzuki swift?

Yes, you can jumpstart the Swift. Anytime you jumpstart a car, please be cautious.

Because of the dangers inherent with jump starting a car battery, we highly recommend using jumper cables specifically designed to help eliminate the possibility of an explosion.
CAUTION:
Lead acid batteries generate explosive hydrogen gases. Keep sparks, flames, and lighted cigarettes away from the area.

Cables should only be connected to batteries with the same voltage ratings. That is... both batteries should either be 6-volt or 12 volt batteries. If for any reason acid contacts eyes, skin, or clothing, FLUSH immediately with large amounts of water. In case of eye contact, see a physician immediately.

Note: If the battery is cracked or appears to be leaking fluids... it's time for a new battery. Be careful as the fluid coming out of the vehicles battery can cause damage to you and or your car/truck.
