I had a similar issue with a Buick but instead of a harness replacement I had to replace a solenoid which you should probably check as well when. I was able to remove the cover without removing the transmission but did have to remove the axle, the transmission mount and had to lower the frame enough to allow for removal of the cover. When lowering the frame beware of the rack and pinion you may have to disconnect it as well. Good luck.

Service engine soon light on took to parts store misfire #4 cylinder replaced plugs and wires should i clear code by taking ground wire off battery or wait for light to go off

Hi Jeff:
I'm a results oriented kind of guy so I's want to know if the fix worked. I'd use the approved "code clearing procedure" so that if the problem was not corrected, the service engine light would come back on and tell me.
Cheerfuls!

Error codes po700 and po768

po768 is shift solenoid "d" control wire open or shorted. p0700 is a generic code that the transmission send to the ecm and is not relivant at all. to fix the first code p0768 you will need to know if the wire is broken or damaged from the solenoid to the computer the solenoid is inside the transmission and the computer is under the dash board infront of the steering wheel. here is the procedure you need to take to diagnose it.

I have a 1991 Dakota it has two trouble codes on is#12 memory standby power lost the other is # 27 injector output circuit not responding what does this mean and to fix it

Code 12 is more or less common, code 27 is a problem with the injector or the circuit.
You may need to research the code 27 to get the testing procedure and the wiring diagram. Usually the reason for the code is too much resistance in the circuit or an open circuit. The computer grounds the injector to make it open.

Multiple codes P0740,P0785,P2761,B0790,B2725 on 2005 trailblazier could it be the battery causing false codes?

You will need a dealer to sort this out, this is way over the head of any home mech to fix 99% of the time. To biggest problem is that you need special tools like a live data scanner.

I get code p758 and p2761 in my silverado 2005 8V 6L 2500hd

  • Your transmission received a low voltage, more than likely from the ignition. First thing is to check the ignition fuse in the fuse panel under the hood. See if it blew or has a bad connection. If this looks OK the you may have to have the ignition replaced. While this code does give a good place to start sometimes it is not as specific as needed. This is when a full scanner is used to see into the different area or your truck. They are much more effective in this instance. But I would check the ignition fuse first. There was a TCB (Technical Service Bulletin) out about this issue as well.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.
