If worse when cold and get quite after engine warms,probablt exhuast leak.

It can be lifters,first try early oil changes and if on the third oil change its doesn't go than u need ur lifters to be changed but before going for the costly repair do rule out the other causes that might cause the same ticking sound like the spark plugs ,low engine oil or excessive engine oil.some times cleaning the chamber and the net underneath might help.hope this helps and best of luck.
