Have you had it scanned for fault codes, yet? If not have Autozone do the free test and write down the codes, do not buy any parts until codes are diagnoszed

This is a known issue. You need to hound your dealer to get this fixed. A work friend of mine has this problem and eventually he just asked them to replace the car even though he had owned it for more than two years. the problem started six months in and he spent more time in a courtesy car while they tried everything to fix it. They replaced pretty much everything in the engine bay sensors. You might be able to get them to identify what needs fixed and then pick up a used one at a junk yard store where they will routinely disassemble working parts from cars. A local garage should be able to fit the part or parts.

What is a engine censor

There are a number of engine sensors on any modern motor. These sensors gather information like rpm's, engine coolant temp, crank and cam position, oil pressure, air temp, and throttle position just to name a few. The cars PCM ( power train control module) uses data from these sensors to determine how to run the engine and if it is safe to operate the engine.

Idle problem (stalling) when car reaches full hot

There's a possibility that the ECT (engine coolant temp.) sensor isn't working the way it's supposed to. The engine may be at operating temp but the sensor may be telling the engine computer it's cold still and it'll act like an automatic choke on a carb. engine.

2001 cavalier wont start cranks but wont catch then it caught one or two times then shut right off has plenty of gas

More than likely a bad fuel pump. Take a rubber mallet and take a few upward strikes on the center of the gas tank (infront of rear tires in center of car). You should be able to reach from reach without raising car. Than try starting. If it fires and runs a few seconds where it wouldn't fire before striking the tank. You need to replace the fuel pump.

03 cavalier starts then dies

Generally when this happens all the time the fuel pump relay has gone bad. Upon starting any GM car up the fuel pump operates off the third wire on the oil pressure switch. When the oil pressure reaches operating pressure which happens in a few seconds the computer shuts off the current from the oil pressure sending unit and opens the circiut flow to the fuel pump relay. The relay will run ythe fuel pump until you shut the engine off. Replace the fuel pump relay and you shall have a good running car again
