I had the same problem. There is a cable mechanism inside the door that lifts the window. The cable broke and had to be replaced.

SOURCE: 99 corolla drivers power window not working

hold on before you waste $60 my suggestion is remove door panel and use a test light to verify power and ground by unplugging window motor stick probe of test light into one cavity of connector and you will need jumper wire or paper clip in other cavity for test light ground(alligator clamp) making a loop then press switch in up or down position test lights bulb switch is good indicating bad motor which is most likely your problem --make sure your on the harness side not motor side ....quick,easy,and fullproof for diag.please rate this

SOURCE: my back window rolled down and will not roll up

take the console apart. its easy. just unscrew the 4 12mm bolts that support the bulk of it at the base and the 2 screws that hold it to the stick shift area. once you have that apart you can access the switches. just pry a screwdriver into the tabs and pull out the window one. mine had some dried soda gunking up the mechanism and it was also just out of wack due to use. The switch is simple, just re-align the w shaped metal piece so that it makes a solid connection in both the up and the down positions. then jam that thing back into the hole that it came from and it should work. Be careful to take it apart slowly so you don't loose any of the small pieces that are inside of the switch. (there is a small spring, a white piece of plastic over the spring, and the w-shaped metal piece that serves as the connection for the switch) Hope this helps.

Need to get a wiring diagram. Buy a book and follow the wiring schematic. It should help you out majorly. Can't really work on electrical issues without one.

Window rolls down by itself and when I start the car. What could be the problem?

Drivers front or rear?

If its the drivers front window the master window switch is the problem. If its one of the other three windows its going to be a little trickier to figure out if you need to replace the individual switch at the door or the master switch.

If its the drivers side rear you can hit the window lockout button on the master switch. If the window stops rolling than its pretty safe to assume the switch on the drivers rear door is bad. If it still rolls down with the lockout on than its a pretty safe bet the master switch is the likely problem.

Cant roll down windows from drivers door. i can roll down the passenger side window from that door but i cant roll down any other window.

The Master Switch may be bad. Thats the first thing to verify good or bad. It may be a big deal to find a wiring diagram and then verify where voltage is lost. All of the window power goes to the Master Switch,(through the lock out switch) then on to each window. Except for the right front window. The diagram is confusing, it does not appear that the lockout switch turns off the RF passenger window.

This problem is very likely caused by the drivers side power window switch being defective, I have seen this very same problem in the shop more than once and the new master switch fixed it. here is the part number and price from www.Rockauto.com

Did you meter the wire at the master switch? If so and you have power the switch is bad, if not you have a short in the wire.

97 Accord drivers side window won't go up or down....

Window motors & regulators go bad every day. Pull your door panel, unplug the motor, if you have an ohm meter apply the leads to the leads into the motor. One will be ground the other two will raise and lower (reverse) the motor. If you show resistance between the leads the motor windings are good and the problem may be the window regulator. If you do not have an ohm meter, you can run two wires (one ground, the other hot) and test the motor by applying elec to it.
