You can use a test light. Remove the black (-) battery cable and connect a test light to the (-) terminal. Connect the opposite end of the test light to the black (-) battery cable you just removed.Remove each one of the fuses from your fuse panel, one at a time. leave the test light hooked up when pulling the fuses. if you pull a fuse and the test light goes out, thats the one thats putting a drain on the system. you can do this with car off! let the test light sit for at least 3-5 minutes, before pulling fuses. good-day!

Hi, If you put a new car alarm or stereo in. this may be the problem.
Get a mechanic to check it out. Good luck.

2002 chevy impala battery constanly drains i replaced ignition switch and relay any solutions

Assuming the battery does not have a dead cell, a mechanic would disconnect the battery and check every circuit on the car for a voltage drain. It could be anything from a short inside the alternator to a light left on to a short in the wiring.

My 2004 rodeo alternator will not work if driver seatbelt not engaged

I would say to make a new ground for the Alternator. If you go to Autozone.com and sign in free, you can access their wiring diagrams.

Look for both engine and chassis wiring. I suspect there is a bad ground for the Alternator. Also check the wiring Fuse block and your Owners manual. See if the Battery light, seatbelt light, and so on are on the same fuse.

If someone installed a fastener it may have combined some wires that were intended to be separate.

I have a 2000 cadillac seville sls that i just rescently put a alternator in.. But, when i go to start the engine it wont even turn over an it sounds like the fuel pump is constanly running.. Help

Alternator has nothing to do with starting a car

Battery ---dead,old,etc
Cables --loose,poor connections
Starter Solenoid --contacts burnt
Starter --- worn out

Fuel Pump should time out, if engine doesn't
start in 15 sec

2008 Lincoln MKX currently will not start just constantly turns over and lights constanly flicker. Have tried chargign the batter and then it shows to be charged but does not start though.

The battery is considered charged when the voltage between ( ) and (-) terminal is at least 12.6 Volts.
Check first the battery voltage with a multimeter, and make sure that both ( ) and (-) terminals are tight.

Battery is dying with in 5 min. sitting or running? what could cause this. starter was changed out and is new same for battery. after market stereo was installed and was stolen from dash.?

if it dies while it's still running it probably needs a new alternator. you might also remove the radio fuse to see if maby the thief grounded something out.

Elecrtial problem

Sounds like a newer 5 series. The SZL module located in the steering column has failed. Most common indication of this failure is the wipers being stuck on. Unit will need to be coded by a professional. Just for fun you can try a memory dump: remove negative battery cable and then positive battery cable and touch them together for 30 minutes then reconnect everything and hope for the best. If the cables are too short to reach each other slide a screwdriver in through the negative opening and into the positive opening. MAKE SURE NEGATIVE CABLE DOESN'T TOUCH THE POSITIVE CABLE WHILE IT IS CONNECTED TO THE VEHICLE.
