Question about 1994 Toyota Camry
The only time it runs decent is when the engine is cold, but after driving it for a few miles it starts to run rough when I accelerate and come to a stop and at idle. And the gas mileage is very poor. The timing belt has recently been changed,as well as the spark plugs, wires, and the rotor cap. The trouble code is a 24, air intake temperature sensor, which is located inside the air cleaner housing, but the car has a cold air intake system instead of an air cleaner housing. What could be my problem ?
1. Error Code 24. Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
Check the following:
- IAT Connector and wiring.
- Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
- Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor.
2. Rough Idling when the engine is hot.
The following are the reasons due to which the engine can perform bad when it is hot.
- Fuel pump control circuit.
- Fuel pump pressure.
- Fuel injectors.
- Non Return Valve clogged, located on the lower side of car chassis above the fuel tank.
- Engine compression, valve clearance, spark plugs.

Check the hose between air filter and engine if hose leak or is torn thigh or change hose with hole wont work, because mass air flow is in air cleaner

It can be the timing belt slipped off it, does happen, check it. Most of the time the rough idling is caused by, spark plugs, fuel system, HT leads, dizzy caps, wrong timing.Check this first and let us knows

SOURCE: 1993 camry running rough
Make sure you don't have a faulty fuel injector, this may be the cause, also use a can of carb spray and spray around the intake gasket to check for leaks, if one is present you will notice a diff in the engine sound when the spray hits it.

i would first check the timing and if that does not fit i would take the cover back off and look at the belt for a bad or missing tooth

SOURCE: 94 Toyota Camry has rough idle.
try chem12 spray. Clean mas, then spray into intake manofold w/engine runnign at 2k rpm. Check for oil leak in spark plug recesses causes a miss that the computer picks up and tries to balance.Did this to my car. it works

YOUR problem is the carby acc pump and idle jet ...... what you need to do is remove airfilter and take the top off the carby and you should see a small ball and spring under gasket ...when you open the throttle it will pump petrol to the small pick up jet and the other jet will take over ...clean out carby jets and rebuild and that should be ok
